Vouchers for Schools—St. Andrew’s School is collecting the Tesco Vouchers for schools, Sainsbury's “Active Kids” Vouchers and Morrisons “Let’s Grow” Vouchers and anyone wishing to donate these please deposit them in the basket on the table behind the main door, next to the Piety Stall where they will be collected periodically. The Glorious Sounds of Brass—12th May—To help celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the opening of the church building, the Co-operative Funeralcare Brass Band will be performing in the Upper Hall at 7.30 p.m. on Saturday 12th May. The band has proved to be the most successful band in the history of Scottish Brass Band Music. They have won the Scottish Championship 30 times and during the 1990’s, twice won the National Championship of Great Britain—the only Scottish band ever to win this prestigious championship. They are the current Scottish Champions and promise an exciting and different evening entertainment. St. Andrew’s Primary PTA—Is hosting a Ladies Night on Friday 18th May from 7pm until midnight. Tickets for entry are £5 and include a cocktail (BYOB). Pat and Hugh—We send our most sincere thanks to all of you for your kindness and indeed affection and support shown to us on the death of our beloved Little Maureen. The dignity of the Service and the many sympathy cards received from her friends and associates impressed us greatly and would be a source of gratification to Maureen.
“Let The Children Live” - Coffee Morning
St Joseph’s Justice and Peace Group are holding a fund-raising coffee morning in St Joseph’s church hall (opposite Milngavie train station) on Saturday 12th May from 10am to 2pm in aid of this charity’s support for the desperate plight of the street children of Colombia, living on dumps, treated as throwaways, killed at random. The charity is a last refuge for these children but is currently in dire financial straits, forced into drastic cutbacks in their vital work. Last year our coffee morning raised well over £1200 for these children. Please help us to let the children live! Tickets available at the door. Adults £3.50; children 50p. (Unlimited tea, coffee and cakes!)
