Nothing that enters one from outside can defile that person;
but the things that come out from within are what defile."

The Caritas Award - St. Andrew`s would like to support any young person in their final year of school to achieve The Caritas Award. It's a rewarding and enjoyable way to learn more about your faith with people your own age and also get a chance to show love of neighbour through your volunteering activities. Additionally, it helps you develop key skills like team working, make new friends, set yourself challenges, develop your CV and improve your confidence. If you are interested in learning more about the Caritas Award, contact Elizabeth Reid [email protected]
If you or someone you know are interested in becoming Catholic, or if you know anyone who might be interested in the Church, why not sign up for St Andrew's RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults)? Meetings begin on 22nd September.
For more information, call 942 4635 or email [email protected]
Catholic Social Teaching Thought for the Week – 29th August
(World Day of Prayer for Care of Creation is observed on 1st September)
"Nature has poured forth all things for all people for common use. God has ordered all things to be produced, so that there should be food in common to all, and that the earth should be a common possession for all. Nature, therefore, has produced a common right for all, but greed has made it a right for a few."
Saint Ambrose of Milan
In this Year of St Joseph, please visit our sleeping St Joseph statue. You can write out a petition and place it under the statue. Let St Joseph ‘sleep on it’.

Your Giving to St Andrew’s A massive Thank You to all our parishioners who have continued to support our parish over these past sixteen months. We have, like many other charities, seen our income greatly reduced since March 2020. This is, of course, because of the lockdowns and closures and there being fewer people being able to attend church. Thank you, once more, in these difficult times for your generosity towards your parish. Fr. Mackle
Pope Francis on Twitter and Instagram. The Pope's Twitter (@Pontifex) and Instagram (@Franciscus) accounts are worth following for daily content relating to the Pope and the Church in the world. Pope Francis uses his Twitter account to highlight topical issues as well as content from his writings.
The monthly Pope video is also a great resource of contemporary commentary by the Holy Father on current issues. The videos are available https://thepopevideo.org/
Drumchapel Foodbank. Regularly your donations are dropped off at the foodbank by our parish volunteers. Thanks for continuing to give the foodbank your support.
