Family Quiz Night WYD23 Lisbon fundraiser tonight Saturday after the Vigil - buffet and bar - £5 per adult and £2.50 per child. It willbe a great night! Do call in.

Congratulations go to the PFFA P7 champions who received their award at a special ceremony last week in St Nics. Fab pics on the school’s and parishes’ social media. We’re looking forward to the P6 PFFA cohort starting after summer. 

Primary 7 Farewell Party!
Congratulations to the team of St Nic parents for organising a memorable Farewell Party. The excited children of St Nicholas’ had an enjoyable evening in an amazingly transformed and colourful St Andrew’s hall….a farewell party evening with their teachers which will no doubt form part of P7’s wonderful memories!​
 We wish St Nicholas’ P7s the very best of luck for the future. We wish them, too, and their families and the whole school community a lovely summer!
The Caritas Award 2024.   Still not too late if you would like to sign up. If you are in your final year of high school or just left and interested in learning about the Caritas award, do get in touch.

Interested in being part of a Parish Visiting Team?  We would like to form a team to visit homes in the parish. Volunteers would be giventraining and would visit in pairs. They would be required to complete a Safeguarding form and attend the Safeguarding Induction course. Please get in touch, if you are interested.
 
St Joseph’s and St Andrew’s – We’ll be meeting soon to explore us working more closely together. Regular updates following Deanery Council and Pastoral Area meetings will be made to the parish.

Drumchapel food bank - During the summer holidays, school meals are not provided so the need is even greater than usual. If you are able to take your donation straight to the Foodbank at Ladyloan Pl, G15 8LB, that would be good.  If not, do leave your donation, please, in the house porch.  Many thanks.

Catholic Social Teaching Thought for the Week - Sunday 2 July  For their part, open and caring families nd a place for the poor and build friendships with those less fortunate than themselves. In their efforts to live according to the Gospel, they are mindful of Jesus’ words: “As you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.”

There’s a good a feature on Fr Joe Dillon and his visit to St Andrew’s and Gavin’s Mill in Flourish and also in the Bearsden and Milngavie Community Magazine.  A limited stock of first edition signed copies areavailable at Gavin’s Mill. 
 
SVDP Report - Thanks to the generosity of many parishioners, in the year 2022/23 St Andrew’s SVDP was able to support some families in St Nicholas’ Primary - £370, St Gregory’s SVDP with £500, Drumchapel food bank with £100, Lincoln Flats Community Project with £750, and our twin parish in India with £120.

Today Sunday 2nd July is National Thank You Day, with an emphasis on those caring for family with dementia - https://www.musicfordementia.org.uk/thank-you-day  Singsong coffee morning after the joint 10.30am New Kilpatrick / Cross Church in New Kilpatrick. Coffee 11.30am approx. All most welcome.

Evening Pilgrimage to Carfin for St Joseph’s and St Andrew’s – Thursday 13th July. Bus will leave at 6.00pm at Milngavie Station £8.  All most welcome. Please put your name on the list in the porch or  email [email protected]  
 
The church is open until 5pm Mon to Sat. Call in and enjoy the peace and quiet, and take time to sit in the stillness in the silence of God.  Tea is served in the hut after Mass Mon to Thurs. All most welcome.
 
Before receiving Holy Communion, we are asked to make some act of reverence such as a bow.
 
Saturday Adoration Do come and spend some time each week to be still before God at our Saturday Adoration. If shopping at the cross, or out for a coffee, pop in for some quiet prayer. Have a heart to heart with God. Sat 10am ~ 11am , with Confessions throughout. Sunday Confession  9.15am until 9.40am.

From Archbishop Nolan ~ Deanery Councils. Well done for establishing these councils within a fairly short time frame.
​All councils have submitted their initial reports as requested for 18th June.
​After the summer the Evangelisation Steering Committee will respond with feedback to encourage Councils in continuing to reflect on how we can be an evangelising church and how we can best use our resources.
