Canniesburn Care Home—Is looking for voluntary mini bus drivers.  PVG disclosure and any other expenses paid for by the home.  Please contact the home on 0141 943 2003.

From the Archbishop’s Office—”Year of Faith” - Pope Francis will preside at an hour of Eucharistic Adoration in St. Peter’s Basilica at 5.00 p.m. Rome time on Sunday 2nd June.—Corpus Christi. At the same time we are asked, to celebrate our hour of adoration and exposition of the Blessed Sacrament here at St. Andrew’s from 4.00—5.00 p.m. in solidarity with the Holy Father’s prayers and intentions.  

Silver Jubilee Celebrations—Congratulation to Fr. Stephen Hannah, celebrating the Silver Jubilee of his Ordination.   He invites any of the St. Andrew's Parishioners who wish to attend Mass at the Holy Family and St. Nanina's Kirkintilloch, followed by a B.B.Q. on Thursday, 20th June at 7.00 p.m. If you intend to take part, please enter your name on the sheet at the church porch notice board.   Thank you.

P.7 Confirmation Deanery Mass— At the Cathedral at 10.30 a.m. on Thursday  6th June.

First Communicants Thanksgiving Service & Celebration Party—at the church and the Upper Hall on Sunday 9th June at 3.00 p.m.

AGAP Film & Faith Club—Meets on Thursday 6th June at 7.00 p.m. in St. Michael’s Parkhead.  This month’s film is “The Crucible” (1996, Certificate 12) starring Daniel Day-Lewis.  It is about the Salem witch trials of 1692 and the post-film chat will be about the nature of “witch hunts” and mass hysteria.  Free Tea/Coffee afterwards and no obligation to commit to all screenings.

AGAP—Is collaborating with Wellington Church on University Ave/Southpark Ave in a projected called “Stranger Powers of Speech” on Friday 7th June at 7.30 p.m. as part of the West End Festival.  An evening of poetry inspired by wildlife with a dramatised reading of ‘The Rime of the Ancient Mariner’.  Admission free.  Fair trade wine and cheese provided.  Donations to the World Wildlife Fund.

New Dawn in Scotland—Catholic Pilgrimage Conference—8th—12th July 2013—See notice in the porch of the church.

St. Andrew’s Foundation Glasgow University—The event has two aspects:  A Mass in St. Andrew’s Cathedral at 7.00 p.m. on Friday 14th June at which Archbishop Muller will give the homily followed by a Civic Reception.   The formal launch of the foundation on Saturday 14th June in the Bute Hall of the University at which Archbishop Muller will deliver the annual Cardinal Winning Lecture. (Please note that the event in the university although free requires advance on line registration.)  See notice in the porch of the church. 

St. Peter’s Primary School Partick —Closing Mass—all invited to St. Peter’s Church on Friday 7th June at 1.00 p.m. Celebrant Archbishop Philip Tartaglia.

Coffee Morning—After 10am Mass on Sunday 16th June.  This is the last coffee morning until August so please come along and support us.  This month we are raising funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care.  As always, donations of home baking (no nuts please) most welcome.  Thanks to those who came along to April’s coffee morning.  The sum of £80 was raised for the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice who are fundraising to set up a unit for 12-16 year olds.

Soup Run—The next soup run will be on Friday 7th June.  Donations taken at the lower hall from 7pm.  Soup, sandwiches, soft fruit, biscuits etc most welcome.  Any queries please call Phyllis 0141 570 1343.  Many thanks for the continuing support.

Notre Dame College Reunion—To celebrate the 40th Anniversary of graduating as teachers from Notre Dame College of Education, in 1973, a Mass at Turnbull Hall, the Glasgow Chaplaincy, followed by a lunch, is being organised on Saturday 14th of September.  For further details please email nancybowie@aol.com
