Ash Wednesday, 5th March. Ashes will be distributed during the 10am and 7pm Masses. A day of fasting and abstinence from meat. You are required to fast if over 18 and 60, which means one complete meal and two smaller ones. If you’re over the age of 14, you are required to refrain from eating any meat on Ash Wednesday. To fast and to abstain reminds us of the penitential nature of Ash Wednesday.

Our parish group is a small community of faith meeting on Wednesday evenings during school term-time from September to May. A series of three introductory evenings for new volunteers starts on March 11th. Why not come along to the first one and give it a try -there's no commitment at this stage. More information is available on the SPRED website - www.spred.org.uk If you are interested please phone Catherine (942 6984) or Lorna (942 0696).
