Proposed Final Design for the new build school on the St Andrew’s Primary School site.
​Anyone who would like to see the final design and make comments is invited to attend a drop-in community information event on Wednesday 12 October at 2pm – 8pm in St Andrew’s Primary School. There will be an opportunity to record your comments by completing a questionnaire or by phoning 0300 123 4510 or via e-mail primaryimprovement@eastdunbarton.gov.uk


Youth Mass
for all secondary school pupils and families – this weekend at 6pm Vigil followed with pizza in the hall.
 
Annual SPUC White Flower Appeal at all Masses this weekend. The second collection will be taken up to help keep SPUC's vital pro-life work going. A Pro-Life Procession will take place on 27th Oct beginning at 6pm from George Square.
 
Cluster Group - St Andrew's, St Benedict's and St Joseph's will next meet Thursday 13th Oct at 7pm in St Andrew's. We will begin to look at how, as parishes, we can work together, and share resources. We'll also look at arranging a further joint spiritual event for lent, and a social event in June. All diocesan cluster groups will be working towards a Diocesan Pastoral Council, due to take place in May / June 2017.
 
Readers Meeting – this Thursday, 6th October at 7pm in the hall followed by a short time for prayer and quiet reflection in the church.
 
October Devotions - Rosary and Benediction - Sundays at 4.30pm.
 
Mother of Mercy Novena starts 3rd Oct at 7pm in The Immaculate Conception Parish. All most welcome.
 
Primary Three Parents intending to present their child for the Sacraments, please complete an enrolment form available in the porch and return it by 16th October. Mass of Commitment for Primary Three families will be at 10am on Sunday 30th October.
 
Like to get to know your faith better? Like to be part of a faith sharing group? We would like to set up faith-sharing groups (6 – 8 people) meeting in homes within the parish – similar to the way Renew groups met in the past. If you are interested, please get in touch with Mike Ryan mryan1481@gmail.com We are only looking (at the moment!!) for people who are simply interested in attending a meeting.
 
An Evening discussion on Ecumenism – 24th Oct at 7pm at the archdiocesan offices, 196 Clyde Street. All most welcome. An opportunity for us, as a parish, to share our own experience of churches together in Bearsden.
 
Still looking for a few more for Handstitching and Embroidery Workshops - Thursdays 4pm until 6pm in the lower church hall, October until March to create an embroidered wall hanging to commemorate our parish's 50th. Maura McRobbie, a member of the Embroiderer's Guild, Glasgow will be leading these workshops. If you would like to be involved, please email maura_mcrobbie@yahoo.co.uk
 
Drumchapel Foodbank – Donations of items of sustainable foods eg tins, pasta, cereals, toiletries, eg toilet rolls, kitchen rolls always gratefully received. Collection boxes in the porch are taken every Monday morning to the Foodbank. Thank you for your help.
 
Soup Run – this Friday 7th Oct 7pm in Lower Hall. Donations of soup, sandwiches, soft fruit, biscuits etc most welcome. Any queries, please call Phyllis on 570 1343.
 
The renewal of the sanctuary carpet is still being looked at, but the decision was taken at last month’s Fabric and Finance meeting to delay this project until a later time due to other financial commitments e.g. the boundary wall, and Golden Jubilee.
 
The Cardinal Winning 39th Charity Ball - 2nd December at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Tickets £80 each includes 5 course dinner, dancing, cabaret and an auction conducted by Mr Andy Cameron. Safeguarding Training - Volunteers who work in the parish with children and/or vulnerable adults, who haven't been free to attend previous safeguarding training meetings, are asked to attend either a training morning 11am - 1pm on 6th Oct or 7-9pm on 14th November - both will take place at 196 Clyde Street, G1 4JY. SPRED - our parish group is looking for a driver to bring one of our Friends to our sessions on Wednesday evenings, only 14 times fortnightly during school term from September to May. For more information or to express interest please phone Catherine on 942 6984 or 07713 861889
 
40 per cent of the 1200 Parish Census Forms have been completed and returned. This Census is important for updating the records of our Parishioners, which helps improve our services to you. So, if you haven’t done so already, please complete and return your Parish Census Form as soon as possible.  P.S. If you need another form, they are still available in the entrance porch at the church. Thank You.

Ladies' Glamorous Night in Aid of the White Lily Fund which raises money for Cancer Research in the West of Scotland— Friday 18th November at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Champagne Reception, Stalls, Dinner and Dancing.
