Carfin Sunday 25th September.
Despite the chilly wind and rain it was great two bus loads from St Andrew’s and St Joseph’s joining a huge crowd at today’s St Bernadette Relics visit - National Pilgrimage at Carfin. Good hot drinks all round afterwards for all.  Can you spot your brolly?

Laudato Si’ - On Care for our Common Home - Other indicators of the present situation have to do with the depletion of natural resources. We all know that it is not possible to sustain the present level of consumption in developed countries and wealthier sectors of society, where the habit of wasting and discarding has reached unprecedented levels. The exploitation of the planet has already exceeded acceptable limits and we still have not solved the problem of poverty. (#27)

Challenge Poverty Week;  3rd – 9th October   Times are hard, and getting harder, for hundreds of thousands of people across the country. A rising flood of living costs is pulling more and more people towards poverty.  This week is an opportunity for you to raise your voice against poverty and unite with others in calling for a just and equal Scotland.  Visit www.challengepoverty.net to learn more and get involved.

This year's Homeless Sunday takes place on Sunday 9th October, the day before World Homeless Day on Monday 10th October.  The chosen theme for this year is 'Homelessness and Mental Health Issues', which feels particularly timely as World Mental Health Day is also on Monday 10th October.  Please check out the online prayers & resources at https://housingjustice.org.uk/homeless-sunday
