As we journey through this new year, and especially with the recent very much welcomed further easing of restrictions, it would be good to have more and more people coming back to Mass. For your reassurance, we have two dedicated areas for social distancing in the church, which is well ventilated and safe for all at all times.
Mary’s Meals will be visiting our parish 12th/13th Feb to give a short update and information talk at all Masses. A retiring collection taken up to support their vital work. Please note, this year there will NOT be a collection of unwanted clothing.
There will be a half price sale of selected Piety Stall stock in the Lower Hall on Sunday 13th February after the 10am and 12 noon Masses. As always, all profits will go to Church funds. May we kindly request that attendees wear masks, unless exempt, and bring cash to pay for their purchases as there are no card machine payment facilities, thank you.

Altar Servers’ Awards. Last Sunday at 12 noon Mass, three brothers were enrolled into the Archconfraternity of St. Stephen. Benedict Kono received the familiar bronze medal on a red cord, having demonstrated, by assisting at Mass regularly for over two years, his commitment to this parish ministry by serving at the Altar. At the same time his older brothers, Dominic and John-Francis, received the familiar bronze medal, but on a gold cord, both having served for over five years. All three lads have served before at their previous parishes. St Andrew’s is fortunate that all three have continued to serve now that they have moved here.
Acknowledgement of long-standing service is also being made to Amy Hartley who has also served faithfully for over five years, this recognition being marked by exchanging her red cord for a gold cord this Sunday at 10am Mass. Well done and congratulations to all concerned. We are very fortunate at St. Andrew’s to have a number of good and committed Servers (six gold cords, & six red cords). There is a real need for more Servers, and if anyone is interested, parents should email [email protected] or call Chris Sanders (942 7519).

Pope Francis has invited us all to take part in a process of discussion and listening about how we are journeying together in the church. Keep your eye on our social media and the bulletin for details about this, which will be posted soon.
