“Take care to guard against all greed,
for though one may be rich,
one’s life does not consist of possessions.”

Sign Up Sunday – 11th September at all three Masses. Our parish needs more volunteers to take forward some of the synod gatherings’ suggestions made by Parishioners about what we can do differently in the Parish. Amongst themes identified
  • pastoral support
  • reaching out to all
  • learning about our Faith
  • continue to encourage youth
  • enhance communication and
  • more social events.
We are looking for more people to get involved in these areas of the parish’s life and mission.  Please think about signing up for involvement in an area of parish life. Come to Sign-up Sunday, upper hall, 11th September. Information about all the parish’s groups will be posted out to all soon.

World Day against People trafficking – Saturday 30th July. Sadly, it's the fastest growing crime globally. Every country in the world is  affected by human trafficking, whether as a country of origin, transit or destination  for victims. Please say a prayer and be aware of victims of human trafficking.

Interested in becoming a Catholic?– Not baptised? Baptised in another faith? RCIA will begin in the autumn. The programme of learning and instruction prepares adults for the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. Please speak to Fr. Mackle if you would like to know more about RCIA and the Catholic faith.

It is pleasant to spend time adoring Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.  The Eucharist is such a priceless treasure ~ by praying before it, we are able to make contact with Christ present in the Most Holy Sacrament.   Saturdays 10am until 11am.  Confessions throughout. Confessions – Also on Saturdays 4.15pm – 4.45pm & Sundays 9.15am – 9.40am

Before receiving Holy Communion, we are asked to make some preparatory act of reverence such as a bow.

Laudato Si’ - On Care for our Common Home - These (pollution and waste) problems are closely linked to a throwaway culture which affects the excluded just as it quickly reduces things to rubbish. To cite one example, most of the paper we produce is thrown away and not recycled. (#22)

Catholic Social Teaching Thought for the Week - Sunday 31st July
When money, instead of man, is at the centre of the system, when money becomes an idol, men and women are reduced to simple instruments of a social and economic system, which is characterised, better yet dominated, by profound inequalities. So we discard whatever is not useful to this logic; it is this attitude that discards children and older people, and is now affecting the young.

Piety Stall rota ~ We could still do with some more volunteers for the 10am Sunday  Mass – if you could spare 15 minutes after this Mass to help, we’d be most grateful.  Any questions please call Anne MacIntosh 931-5861 or Annamaria Strachan 942-9799.
