A very warm welcome to everyone, especially to Archbishop Tartaglia and to all our invited guests to today’s Golden Jubilee Mass of Thanksgiving. A buffet will be served with refreshments in the upper hall after Mass.
 
Thank you to everyone who helped in any way to make St Andrew’s Golden Jubilee Celebration Music and Quiz Night such a terrific success.  Many thanks to all the musicians and singers, to all who came along and supported the Night, and to all who donated lovely raffle prize. Congratulations to all the winners. Also, a big thank you to Gordon for his job as the evening’s compere. However, special thanks must go to Margaret Charrier and all the members of the Youth Ministry Team for all their excellent work looking after the Music and Quiz Night’s organisation and all its preparations. Well done. A good Night’s celebration of our parish feast day and Golden Jubilee was had by all. £566 was raised for our Jubilee’s chosen charities.
 
The Christmas Soup Run – Friday 8th December.We will take warm drinks and mince pies.We would be delighted to receive any donations.Gloves, hats, scarfs, socks and underwear are always appreciated as are toiletries.It is very helpful if these are wrapped and details of the contents are on an attached card or tag.These can be left in the Church porch. Thank you very much for your support at this time and throughout the year.If you have any questions or wish to join us for the soup run now or at any time please contact Phyllis Littlejohn on 0141 570 1343.
 
Photographs taken at our Christmas Fair Coffee Morning on 19th November, and photographs taken at today’s Golden Jubilee Mass and Reception may be put on display on the church or halls noticeboards, on the parish website, on a new outside photo banner, or posted on parish facebook. Couple of volunteers still needed please to collect shoebox donations from Bearsden Academy after 10am Mass on Monday 4th December. Please speak to Fr Mackle, if you are free assist. We are very grateful to the pupils of Bearsden Academy and Mr McKeown who are supporting, once again this year, our Soup-run’s Christmas Shoebox Appeal for the homeless.
 
Primary 7 parents - The Piety Stall has a selection of books about the lives of the Saints on sale which may be helpful with preparation for Confirmation.
 
Baptism Preparation Evening – this Thursday 7th Dec at 7pm in the hall for parents and godparents whose child’s baptism is to be celebrated soon.
 
The ParishSPRED group willthe liturgy at 12.00 Advent Mass on 10th. Please join us afterwards in the Hall for tea, coffee and a chat.

Remember in your prayersBennett and John Johnstonare journeying through RCIA.Nextat 10am Mass, there will be the Rite of Acceptance, which involves special prayers for them as part of the RCIA process.
 
We look forward to the Unveiling of the Golden Jubilee Embroidery Work - Sunday 10th December at 10am Mass.
 
Advent Gospel Reflection Sessions - Monday 4th and 11th December, after the 10am Mass in the Upper Hall. The sessions will reflect on the Gospel Readings for the Second and Third Sundays of Advent.If you can, please join us for tea/coffee and a reflective and enjoyable discussion.

Poinsettias for the sanctuaryChristmas will be gratefully received.Please hand in the weekend 16th/17thnot before.

Big Clean for Christmas: In preparation for Christmas, the church will be cleaned on Thurs 21stafter 10am Mass. We are looking for as many volunteers as possible please(men as well as women) to come along and help with this essential task.
 
Advent Youth Mass – 16th December - 6pm Vigil. All the young people of our parish cluster of St Benedict’s, St Joseph’s and St Andrew’s are invited to come along to this Mass in St Andrew’s. It will be followed with pizza in the hall, and then a short Nightfever of quiet time and prayer before the Blessed Sacrament in candlelight with some uplifting music, and be finished by 8.30pm.  If you would like to volunteer to help at the Mass as a passkeeper, server or with music or the offertory and bidding prayers, please let Fr Mackle know.
 
Kelvin Choir Christmas Concert with Special Guests, St Andrew’s  children’s choir. 3pm 17th Dec here in St Andrew’s Church. Tickets £5/3(children) including refreshments. Available from www.kelvinchoir.com or pay on the door. Part of our Golden Jubilee Year celebrations.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament – each Saturday from 10.30am until 12.30pm. Please consider coming to spend some time in adoration and prayer each Saturday.

Parents Meetings – for First Confession, 11th January 2018 at 7pm. For First Holy Communion, 18th January 2018 at 7pm. Both meetings in the upper hall. First Holy Communion dates – Sundays 13th and 20th  May 2018 at 12noon Mass.
Confirmation preparation meeting - Tuesday, 16th January 2018 at 7pm in St Joseph's for parents and sponsors. On the same evening and at the same time in St Joseph’s, catechists of the two parishes will gather with the P7s to lead them in preparing for Confirmation.
 
Milngavie Choir will perform their Christmas Concert in Cairns Church, Buchanan Street, Milngavie on Saturday 17th December at 7.30pm, with Mezzosoprano Grace Wain of Scottish Opera and other goodies. Ticket prices are £10, £8 and £5programme and post-concert refreshments. They can be purchased from Purple Edge, Bearsden and The Iron Chef, Milngavie, or Maria Finnerty 0141 943 1517.
 
Bearsden Choir Christmas Celebration Concert. – Weds 13th December @ 7.30pm in New Kilpatrick Parish Church, followed by seasonal refreshments in NK New Halls.   Tickets £12 (children £5) from Purple Edge, at the door or phone Chris on 942 7519.  For more details, see poster on Noticeboard in the Porch.
