"We saw the star and have come to
do the King homage."

A very big thank you to all who helped to prepare and celebrate Christmas Masses at St Andrew’s. The Church looked wonderful once again for the celebration. Christmas crib offerings go towards the St Margaret’s family society which supports children, especially through providing adoption services. Small donation boxes are also available in the porch. Please support St Margaret’s with your donations and with your prayers.  The crib remains in place for forty days right throughout January, until the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord on 2nd February.

Christmas Day Mass attendance – 1682. Previous year’s was 1061.

We look forward to all families, who over the past year have had a celebration of the Sacrament of Baptism, gathering together for the 10am Mass next Sunday for the Feast of the Baptism of Our Lord. After Mass, there will be refreshments served in the parish hall to which everyone is invited.

With all good wishes for the Christmas Season and throughout 2016 from Monsignor Ryan, Fr Mackle and Deacon Tommy.

Invite someone you know back to Mass this Christmas Season. All of us know someone who has stopped going to Mass. Invite someone you know who no longer attends to return in this Year of Mercy’s festive season.

Special Second Collections – 3rd Jan – Justice & Peace; 31st Jan – Education Sunday.

Updating Parish Register – The Parish Census Team would be very grateful for your help and assistance in updating St Andrew’s Parish Register by providing them with your contact details. Even if you have registered before, all Householders are being asked please to fill up the Census Slips, that will be given out at Masses on the 16th &17th January. Only basic contact details for the adult Householders are being requested at this stage, so it should not take any longer than a minute to complete and hand back this Census Slip. Pens will be available along with containers to collect all completed forms. Many thanks.

The Year of Mercy motto, Merciful Like the Father, (Luke 6:36) serves as an invitation to follow the merciful example of the Father who asks us not to judge or condemn but to forgive and to give love and forgiveness without measure. (see our banner in the porch and in both halls)

Soup Run – this Friday 8th January 7pm in Lower Hall. Donations of soup, sandwiches, soft fruit, biscuits etc most welcome. Any queries, please call Phyllis on 570 1343.
