We saw his star at its rising
and have come to do him homage."
Christmas Carols Video - If you didn’t manage to see our Special Christmas Carols Video, you can get it on St Andrew's YouTube Channel on this link.
All the very best for the Christmas Season from all the Parish Musicians.
The Feast of the Baptism of Our Lord ~ We invite all families who have had a celebration of baptism within the past year to attend online the live streamed 10am Mass on Sunday, 10th January, 2021, or you might want to attend in the church ( remember, though, you would need to register first with the church booking system and then book seats). Go to the home page on this site here. It’s so unfortunate that we can’t all gather together this year for this Mass, as we normally do, but, hopefully, we’ll get the opportunity to gather next year.
Cribs ~ We’ll be keeping all the cribs (in both halls, in the church and both outdoor ones ) up for 40 days through to Candlemas on 2nd February. Why not keep yours up in your home until then? It's such a terrific visual aid and the 40 days allow us to adore the new-born Christ for longer.
When you’re out for your tier 4 stroll, feel free to call in for a wee prayer before our outdoor cribs. See if you can find our crib in the Spirit of Peace garden.
Stay in and Stay Safe. I would urge you, please, during tier 4, to stay in and stay safe. Attend on your device at home, our Sunday and weekday 10am live streamed Mass, and make a spiritual communion. Go to www.standrewsbearsden.co.uk Or dial-a-Mass on 0141 473 4869. Please, stay in and stay safe, and I look forward to seeing you when we're out of tier 4 and it's safer. Fr Mackle
A huge huge thanks. So many people have been involved in so many ways helping and volunteering, especially this past year ensuring that our church and halls are safe and secure places for public Mass. So many people have helped in all areas of parish life & community. I thank you all sincerely.
Our piety stall staff, during these difficult times, with the help of our online team, rose to the challenge of the past year magnificently by setting up the parish piety stall online. In continuing to operate these past months, order and collect, and delivery of items has worked well.
A huge thank you to those who generously give of their time serving in the piety stall, and to the parishioners who support the stall with their purchase.
The fantastic amount of £900 profit was raised during 2020, which is a great boost to parish funds.
Huge thanks to our Youth Ministry Team who looked after the arrangements and preparations for a wonderful Youth Advent Evening, and big thanks to all our young people who came along to it. It was lovely and prayerful and peaceful and a great preparation for Christmas. Thinking caps are on for future youth events.
Annual Crib Donations are vital for the solvency and running of St Margaret's as the UK's only Catholic adoption agency. As there are no St Margaret's take home Crib Boxes this year because of the Covid restrictions, donations can be made via the St Margaret’s website or by cheque posted to the charity’s office at 26 Newton Place, Glasgow, G3 7PY. Your generosity will be greatly appreciated. St Margaret's aims to ensure that every child has the right to grow up in a safe, loving and secure family environment.
Christmas Season Appeal - Drumchapel Foodbank. The number of families now dependent on the foodbank, and the number of emergencies, are rising fast. Thanks to all of our Parishioners who are donating food and toiletries to our collection point in the Chapel House porch to be delivered to Drumchapel Food Bank. Regularly your donations are dropped off at the foodbank by our parish volunteers. Thanks for continuing to help, especially during the schools’ Christmas break.

Day of Prayer for Justice and Peace – 3rd January - – Bishop Nolan’s letter for Justice & Peace Sunday can be found on the J&P Scotland website. A portion of our collection this weekend will go toward supporting the vital work of J&P. Follow J&P Scotland on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram or check out the website for information on current issues and campaigns. If you would be interested in the work of our cluster's Justice & Peace group and for any information, email [email protected]
As seating capacity in the church is much reduced due to current social distancing guidelines, a booking system is required. To register to use the booking system, please go here.
Please note that the obligation to attend Sunday Mass continues to be suspended. It is still fine not to go to Mass during these circumstances.
Here's some helpful guidance from the Bishops' Conference of Scotland
