Lent Reboot – Youth Event. Saturday 16th March 6:30 - 8:30pm, after the Vigil Mass, @St Joseph's Main Hall, a chance to reboot your relationship with Jesus and your Faith. The invitation  to young people in our Cluster, P7-S3. Tell your friends. Take a flyer from the church porch and pass it on! See more information on the St. Joseph's and St Andrew's websites and parishes Facebook pages. Games, activities friendship, soup and bread.  (No pizza - well, it is Lent!)

Ash Wednesday--
6th March - Distribution of Ashes at Mass at 10.00 am and 7.00pm. Ashes can be collected from the sacristy for any housebound parishioners.  A day of fast and abstinence. Mass in St Nicholas’at 11am for staff and pupils.
 
We welcome to our parish this weekend Sisters from the Convent of St Elizabeth in Belarus, who will be selling icons to aid their work in running an orphanage, a nursing home for the elderly, and a home for recovering alcoholics. They also run a farm for the benefit of the local community. 
 
Archbishop’s Pastoral Letter on Preparation for the Sacraments. Copies available in the porch, plus a copy has been sent to the parents of the boys and girls they have presented for the Sacraments this year.
 
Gospel Reflection Session– this Monday 4thMarch after the 10am Mass in the Upper Hall. The session will reflect on the Gospel Reading for Ash Wednesday. If you can, please join us for tea/coffee and a reflective and enjoyable discussion.
 
Considering doing something different for Lent?Why not come along to a series of DVD presentations in the upper hall on Catholicism, starting this   Thursday, March 7, at 7pm and running for 10 weeks.
 
Day of Prayer for those who have suffered abuseIn accordance with the  wishes of Pope Francis to set aside a Day of Prayer each year for those who have suffered abuse, the Bishops’ Conference of Scotland has designated Friday after Ash Wednesday, which this year falls on Friday 8thMarch. There will be a Holy Hourof Acknowledgment, Prayer and Reflection  this Friday  in St Andrew’s at 7pm.
 
Dates and Times for Primary Three Sacrament of Reconciliation (First Confession) - During The Season of Lent (6thMarch – 21stApril ) Saturdays 10.30am – 11.00am; & 4.15pm – 4.45pm; Sundays 9.15 – 9.40am. Family members are encouraged too to take the opportunity then to go to the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament– each Saturday from 10.30am until 12.30pm. Please consider coming to spend some time in adoration and prayer each Saturday, especially during Lent.
 
The St. Andrew’s Squad- (S.A.S.) for all children in the parish preparing for First Holy Communion. Please come along and join us on Sunday 17thMarch  from 9.00 – 9.45am in the Upper Hall. Any queries please contact Margaret Hendry on 563 9993.

17th March - Coffee Morning Please come along and join us after Mass in the upper hall for tea, coffee and some delicious home baking.This month’s coffee morning will be in aid of Margaret of Scotland Hospice, Clydebank, which has, for over 60 years, offered compassion, dedicated commitment and excellent care to patients with advanced life-limiting illnesses and also to the older person with complex medical and nursing needs.huge thank you to all who supported last month’s coffee morning. We raised a record sum of £683 for Project Gambia,(£600 from the coffee morning itself and £83 from Margaret Taylor’s baby clothes stall). Needless to say, the Charity were absolutely delighted and there is a lovely ‘thank you’ letter from them posted on the Narthex board.Many, many thanks yet again for your continued support and generosity. Have you or anyone you know ever thought about joining the Lourdes Hospitalite but never quite made it?  yearparish would again like to sponsor 3 parishioners to travel withPilgrimage.is a team of doctors, nurses and helpers who are assisted by the St Margaret of Scotland Youth Group to ensure the Pilgrimage is a wonderful spiritual and memorable experience. St Nicholas’ Primary Parent Association Family Night  16th March 7pm - 10 pm Milngavie Town Hall   Come and join us for St Nicholas’ PA very first Family Night. Catholic Social Teaching Thought for the Week  Fri 8 March is International Women’s Day, a day tocelebrate women's achievements and tenaciously challenge gender bias.  Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come.  She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue  Psalm 3:25-26
 
Parish visit to Iona- There will be a meeting for anyone who wishes to come along on 21stMarch at 7pm in the Blessed Sacrament chapel at St. Andrew’s.

Altar Servers’ Refresher Courses -During the next few months, those involved in the Liturgy at Mass will be undergoing Refresher Courses.  The first two sessions planned for all Altar Servers will be after the 12 noon Mass on Sundays 3rd and 31st March at 2pm. Each will last no more than an hour. It will only be necessary to attendoneof these afternoons. 
 
Looking for a Lenten challenge?Please pray during Lent for the Homeless Club users and volunteers at the Wayside Club Centre, 32 Midland St, Glasgow. Ladies Fashion Show and Pop Up Shop -Castlehill fundraising team are organising a charity fashion show at Bearsden Academy on 13th Marchin order to raise funds for the nursery which serves St Nicholas Primary.
