Ash Wednesday--6th March - Distribution of Ashes at Mass at 10.00 am and 7.00pm. Ashes can be collected from the sacristy for any housebound parishioners. A day of fast and abstinence. Mass in St Nicholas’at 11am for staff and pupils.
We welcome to our parish this weekend Sisters from the Convent of St Elizabeth in Belarus, who will be selling icons to aid their work in running an orphanage, a nursing home for the elderly, and a home for recovering alcoholics. They also run a farm for the benefit of the local community.

Day of Prayer for those who have suffered abuseIn accordance with the wishes of Pope Francis to set aside a Day of Prayer each year for those who have suffered abuse, the Bishops’ Conference of Scotland has designated Friday after Ash Wednesday, which this year falls on Friday 8thMarch. There will be a Holy Hourof Acknowledgment, Prayer and Reflection this Friday in St Andrew’s at 7pm.
Dates and Times for Primary Three Sacrament of Reconciliation (First Confession) - During The Season of Lent (6thMarch – 21stApril ) Saturdays 10.30am – 11.00am; & 4.15pm – 4.45pm; Sundays 9.15 – 9.40am. Family members are encouraged too to take the opportunity then to go to the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament– each Saturday from 10.30am until 12.30pm. Please consider coming to spend some time in adoration and prayer each Saturday, especially during Lent.

17th March - Coffee Morning Please come along and join us after Mass in the upper hall for tea, coffee and some delicious home baking.This month’s coffee morning will be in aid of Margaret of Scotland Hospice, Clydebank, which has, for over 60 years, offered compassion, dedicated commitment and excellent care to patients with advanced life-limiting illnesses and also to the older person with complex medical and nursing needs.huge thank you to all who supported last month’s coffee morning. We raised a record sum of £683 for Project Gambia,(£600 from the coffee morning itself and £83 from Margaret Taylor’s baby clothes stall). Altar Servers’ Refresher Courses -During the next few months, those involved in the Liturgy at Mass will be undergoing Refresher Courses. The first two sessions planned for all Altar Servers will be after the 12 noon Mass on Sundays 3rd and 31st March at 2pm. Each will last no more than an hour. It will only be necessary to attendoneof these afternoons.
