Altar Servers’ Awards. Two Servers are due to be enrolled officially into the Archconfraternity of St. Stephen (Emmet Flanagan and Caitlin McLeod at the 10am Mass on Sunday 4th December). Each will receive the familiar bronze medal on a red cord, as they have demonstrated, by assisting at Mass regularly for over two years, their commitment to their parish ministry by serving at the Altar. At the same time, acknowledgement of long-standing service is also being made to Caragh Pryce and Joseph Sheridan who have both served faithfully for over five years, this recognition being marked by exchanging their red cords for yellow cords. Well done and congratulations to all concerned. We are very fortunate at St. Andrew’s to have a number of good and committed Servers. Although four youngsters have recently started serving, there is a real need for more Altar Servers: any approach to Fr Mackle or Chris Sanders will be most welcome.
Sign-up Sundays for young people. Many thanks to those who have signed up to become a reader, or to help at coffee mornings, or to take part in the offertory, or to become a passkeeper, or to be part of a music group - we'll be in touch soon.
Please Note New Year’s Eve Masses – 6pm Vigil & 11.30pm followed by refreshments. New Year’s day Masses – 10am & 12noon.
St Andrew’s Parish Library- As many of you have noticed, a bookcase has been placed in the porch. We would like to fill the shelves with books of a spiritual nature which parishioners can borrow. We hope by this means to help each other deepen our faith and intensify our practice of the faith. We would be grateful, therefore, if you could provide any books of a spiritual nature which you no longer need. Please put them on the bookcase. You will be able to borrow books for as long as you wish but we do ask people to return them when they have finished reading them so that others may also benefit from reading them. There will be a sign in / sign out sheet.
