​Massive thanks to the NET Ministry Team for visiting us. It was an amazing day’s retreat for our young people. Huge thanks, too, to our both parishes Youth Ministry Team for helping with all the organising, planning and arrangements, especially for lunch and thanks too to our PFFA & Caritas candidates for all the good help they gave. More youth events in the pipeline. 
 
Ash Wednesday - 14th February - Distribution of Ashes at Mass at 10.00a.m. and 7.00p.m. Ashes can be collected from the sacristy for any housebound parishioners. A day of fast and abstinence. With Ash Wednesday being a schools’ in service day, do come along for your ashes at the 10a.m. or 7p.m. Masses.  
 
During Lent Rosary – Monday – Friday 9.30a.m. Stations of the Cross Fridays at 6p.m. Saturday Adoration – 10 – 11a.m. with Confessions throughout, Sunday Confessions – 9.15 – 9.40a.m. 
Alms Giving 2nd Collection – for sick and retired priests. Many thanks
Short Term Pledge Prayer cards available in the porch.
SCIAF Wee Box – do pick up a pack from the porch, please.
 
Lent - Adoration for Lent: Do come and spend some time each week to be still before God at our Saturday Adoration. If shopping at the Cross, or out for a coffee, pop into St Andrew's for some quiet prayer.
​Have a heart to heart with God - Saturdays during Lent from 10a.m. until 11a.m. with Confessions throughout. Sunday Confessions will be from 9.15a.m. until 9.45a.m. Church open daily until 5p.m. 
 
The Second Collection during Lent is taken up to support our sick and retired priests. On the 4th Sunday, the collection will be exclusively for SCIAF.

Young Adult Online Lent Group: RCAG Youth are running weekly Zoom sessions, 7-8p.m. each Monday of Lent for 16-35 year olds. Video input, time for discussion and the opportunity to pray.

Adoration for Vocations – First Saturday of each month prayers are offered for an increase in vocations to the priesthood, consecrated life and the permanent diaconate. 10.00a.m. till 11.00a.m. Please consider coming to spend time in adoration and prayer.

Synod 2023-2024: Pope Francis is asking us to deepen our thoughts on 20 areas of special interest. They can be found at  www.synod.va/content/dam/synod/assembly/synthesis/english/2023.10.28-ENG-Synthesis-Report.pdf.

COFFEE MORNING -SUNDAY 18th FEBRUARY Please come along and join us in the Upper Hall, after 10a.m. Mass, for tea, coffee and some delicious home baking.
In a change to the previous notice, this month we are raising funds for SCIAF as 2 of our young Parishioners, Roisin and Ellen, who attend Bearsden Academy, are doing the Caritas Award and they will be baking and helping at this coffee morning, which we really appreciate, so please come along and support them.
Thanks so much for your continued generosity. In December £220 was donated to The St Nicolas Care. Fund and in January £200 was donated to Mary’s Meals and through their ‘Double the Love” scheme. This was matched and so doubled to £400, by some very generous supporters. All hugely appreciated.
 
Bereavement Support Group is willing to help anyone seeking assistance. If you have suffered a bereavement (not necessarily recently) and feel you could benefit from talking to someone about it, please call 942 4635 or email [email protected]
 
Children’s Choir Dates 10a.m. Mass St Andrew’s Church. If your child is not at St Nicholas’ and they would like to join the choir, please contact Annamaria ([email protected]/0141942 9799) to arrange rehearsal links:10th, 17th, 31st March, 21st April, 12th & 19th May, 9th & 16th June 10a.m. Mass.
 
SACRAMENTS IN 2024 ~ Date for First Confession is Saturday 9th March 10a.m. until 11a.m. in St Andrew’s. The date for First Holy Communion is Sunday 19th May at 12 Noon Mass.  
 
Piety Stall rota - Could you occasionally help with serving in the Piety Stall? We would be very grateful for some extra volunteers to help us out – if you could sometimes spare 10 minutes after Mass to help, it would be most appreciated. The rota sheet for January, February and March is on the door of the Piety Stall. Meantime, our sincere thanks to everyone who regularly volunteers to assist with running the stall.

Alpha Youth in a Catholic Context Discovery Day: Saturday, 17th February 2024. 10:00 – 16:00.  196 Clyde St, G1 4JY. Event is in-person and free.
Register tinyurl.com/alphayouthscotland  Alpha Youth - for the formation and evangelisation of our young and could be used in our parish! Join Michael Roche of Alpha and the Archdiocesan Youth Office for an opportunity to sample Alpha Youth sessions - find out how Alpha works in a Catholic parish or school setting and have your questions answered.

The Church is open until 5p.m. Monday to Saturday. Call in and enjoy the peace and quiet and take time to sit in the stillness in the silence of God.

Tea is served in the hut after daily Mass Monday to Thursday. All most welcome.
 
Before receiving Holy Communion, we are asked to make some act of reverence such as a bow.

Support For Drumchapel Foodbank. Non-perishable food items are always gratefully received and can be placed in the House porch. Donations can also be taken straight to the Foodbank at Ladyloan Pl Unit 9, G15 8LB. We regularly use cash donations to purchase food items for delivery straight to the foodbank. Our rota is always looking for more foodbank volunteer drivers. If you can help, please get in touch. Thanks for continuing to give the foodbank your support. 
 
Parish Bulletin: Items for inclusion should be sent to [email protected] by 5 p.m. on the Tuesday before publication. The Parish Bulletin is available weekly on our website/by email for all those on our Parish database and on the noticeboards in the Church porch and the Church grounds.
