Youth Mass and Pizza – 24th Oct for young people aged 12 – 16  5.30pm start with gathering and ice-breaker in the upper hall - 6pm Vigil. If you are in this age range, please come along. Mass will be followed with a short retreat and will finish with pizza in the hall. If anyone would like to be involved in the Mass ministries, eg. reading, please give your names to Fr. Mackle.
 
Parish Retreat – today, Sunday 4th October. Starts with 12noon Mass through to
4.30pm- Benediction . All members of the Parish are welcome and invited to enjoy a prayerful and uplifting time together. Remember and bring a packed lunch.
Even if you can’t manage along for the whole retreat, come for some or even just for Benediction.
 
Altar Servers.  Any young member of the Parish (who has made his/her First Holy Communion) who would like to become an Altar Server is invited to contact Chris Sanders (942 7519) or Fr. Mackle, who will gladly take your details.  Training sessions are due to commence soon.

During a special ceremony called Institution of Lector, Nick Pryce will take the next step toward becoming a Permanent Deacon. All are invited to this ceremony, which will take place on Sunday, 15th November at 12noon Mass in St Andrew's, Cathedral. Keep Nick in your prayers.

Primary Three Families - The Sacrament of Penance (First Confession) in Lent 2016, and First Holy Communion in May 2017. Parents intending to present children, who are in primary three, for these sacraments, are required to complete an application/enrolment form available in the porch and return it by 11th October.

Mass of Commitment for Primary Three families will be at the 10am on Sunday 25th October.

Passion for Christ – Passion for People - Annual Mission Sunday Appeal will be on 18th October. This year we are invited to reach out and help Justina and others like her in Africa who struggle to get an education. She is a primary school pupil who lives in Zambia and faces tremendous obstacles in her quest for education. Visit www.missio.scot for more information. Those who Giftaid, please take a giftaid Mission Appeal envelope from the porch and add 25% of the value of your offering at no extra cost to yourself.

Charity Concert in aid of the Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East to be held at New Kilpatrick Church on 13 November 7.30pm. The organisers are from All Saints Church and they hope to involve all the churches in Bearsden.  Musicians are giving their time free. Contact - Janet Stack [email protected]

29 Club Renewal Letters ‘Many thanks for your great support over the years. To help save us postage can you collect your 29 Club Renewal Letter at the end of Mass. White Lily Ladies’ Dinner 2015 - Friday 13th November at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Tickets -£50 each. A great night out with Champagne reception, stalls in the foyer, fantastic entertainment and a 3 course meal and, please remember, every penny from our fundraising is used to fight cancer in the west of Scotland. Bishop John Keenan, Bishop of Paisley, will give a talk on the October 2015 Synod on  The Vocation and Mission of the Family in the Church and Contemporary World in the Upper Hall at 7:00pm on Thursday 29th October 2015. Bishop John's talk, which is part of our parish's Adult Faith Formation programme, will begin with tea and coffee and there will be an opportunity for questions and discussion afterwards.
 
Scottish Churches Anti-human Trafficking Conference - Saturday 17th October, 9.30 - 4 pm in St George's Tron Church, Buchanan Street.  At the conference will be Aidan McQuade, who is Director of Slavery International, and delegates from Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and Europe. It will be a great opportunity to hear from international speakers on this important issue.

Krakow WYD 2016. If interested in attending, call the Youth Office on 226 5898 or speak to Fr Mackle. Cost around £800. Parish will sponsor 50% and also support any young people’s fundraising. Pick up from the porch a prayer card and pray for WYD’s  success. Visit www.WYD2016.

An invitation to any carers in the parish who would like to start a monthly coffee group. It can be a lonely job looking after someone and it might be nice to get together once a month for a chat and to support each other.
