​Do remember that our church is now open weekdays until 5pm, and on Saturdays until after the 5pm Vigil Mass. Call in and enjoy the peace and quiet, and take time to sit in the stillness in the silence of God. Teas and coffees are served in the hut after daily 10am Mass. All most welcome.

It is pleasant to spend time adoring Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.  The Eucharist is such a priceless treasure ~ by praying before it, we are able to make contact with Christ present in the Most Holy Sacrament.   Saturdays 10am until 11am.  Confessions throughout. Confessions – Also on Saturdays 4.15pm – 4.45pm & Sundays 9.15am – 9.40am 
 
Next Sunday’s Sign Up Sunday – We are looking for more people to get involved in many areas of the parish’s life and mission.  Please think about signing up for involvement in an area of parish life. Do come along to Sign-up Sunday in the upper hall.  
 
SPRED Sunday. 10th / 11th  September. Special Religious Development. SPRED works within the Church to nourish accepting and inclusive communities for people with learning disabilities. We are very blessed to have our own parish SPRED group, which meets every Wednesday evening in the upper hall. Please pick up a SPRED leaflet from the porch. The second collection will be taken up to support the good work of SPRED.
 
Children’s Choir ~ for all P4-P7s of the parish .Older children S1-6 who have missed out because of the pandemic, are most welcome to join too.  Dates are:18th Sept, 2nd Oct (at St Joseph's), 9th Oct, 13th Nov, 11th Dec, 18th Dec, 25th Dec.   Please contact Annamaria Strachan ([email protected]) with any questions and/or to sign up.
 
Sacraments 2023 ~ First Confessions Saturday 25th March at 10am.    First Communion Sunday 14th May at 12 noon.    Confirmations Monday 8th May at 7pm.    Details soon regarding enrolling for Reconciliation and Confirmation. 
 
The young people of St Andrew's & St Joseph’s need your help! Do you have an exercise bike languishing unused in a corner somewhere? Would you be willing to lend it for a day to the Youth Ministry Team for a proposed fundraiser on 3 December? (We can arrange pick-up and return.) The fundraiser, aimed at participants aged between 12 and 22, will provide a boost to our support for local foodbanks and the soup run. More details about how to take part/donate will be announced in October.  In the meantime, if we can borrow a stationary bike from you, please email us:[email protected]  Many thanks!
 
St. Andrew's Lunch Club started last Thursday - "open to all" 12.30 -2 30pm 1st & 3rd Thursdays.  Do come along ~ enjoy good company and a good friendly chit chat.
 
Relics of Saint Bernadette to mark the Centenary of Carfin Grotto ~ Sunday 25th Sept Mass at 3pm followed by a Rosary Procession.  All most welcome. Bus is free and will leave from Roman Rd at 1pm.  Please enter your name on the sheet in the porch. 

Before receiving Holy Communion, we are asked to make some preparatory act of reverence such as a bow.

Evening trip to Carfin - Bus will leave from Milngavie Railway Station on Tuesday 13th September at 6pm and return around 9pm.

Laudato Si’ - On Care for our Common Home - Many of the poor live in areas particularly affected by phenomena related to (global) warming, and their means of subsistence are largely dependent on natural reserves and ecosystemic services such as agriculture, fishing and forestry. They have no other financial activities or resources which can enable them to adapt to climate change or to face natural disasters, and their access to social services and protection is very limited. (#25)

The Season of Creation, from 1st September to 4th October, is the annual Christian celebration to listen and respond together to the Voice of Creation and the cry of the poor.  This week, The Scottish Laity Network has organised a Zoom session on Thursday 8th September, 7.00 - 8.30pm, to reflect and share on “Fossil fuel divestment and investment in clean energy: Tackling the climate, conflict and cost of living crises’”.  Register through their website, http://scottishlaitynetwork.org.uk  

Milngavie Choir new session will begin on Tuesday 6th September 2022 in Cairns Church, Buchanan Street, Milngavie at 7.30pm. If you would like to join us you will be made most welcome. No audition and no requirement to read music.

For women affected by separation and divorce – next meeting of this confidential and peer support group is Fri 7thOct in St Patrick's hall, Dumbarton 6pm - 8pm.  All new members are most welcome.  email: [email protected]

Forthcoming Special Collection – SPRED 11th September. 

Drumchapel Foodbank. Regularly your donations are dropped off at the foodbank by our parish volunteers. Thanks for continuing to give the foodbank your support.   Our soup-run volunteers continue to collect donations from M&S, Byres Rd & Milngavie for delivery to Drumchapel & St Gregory’s Foodbanks, the Wayside Club & Aspire.
