Piety Stall ~ Could you occasionally help with serving in the Piety Stall? We are particularly short of volunteers for the 10am Sunday Mass – if you could sometimes spare 10 minutes after this Mass to help, we’d be most grateful.  Please call Anne MacIntosh 931-5861 or Annamaria Strachan 942-9799.

Catholic Social Teaching Thought for the Week - Sunday 5 February  Among the fruits of justice, mercy to the poor should certainly be considered the most important. That justice which comes from faith belongs to Jesus Christ. It is true that “if one of the brothers or one of the sisters is in need of clothes and has not enough food to live on, and one of you says to them, ‘I wish you well; keep yourself warm and eat plenty’ without giving them these bare necessities of life, then what good is that?”A Quo Die, Pope Clement XIII

Laudato Si’ - On Care for our Common Home - A delicate balance has to be maintained when speaking about these places (tropical forests), for we cannot overlook the huge global economic interests which, under the guise of protecting them, can undermine the sovereignty of individual nations. In fact, there are “proposals to internationalize the Amazon, which only serve the economic interests of transnational corporations”. (#38)

If your PVG was issued in 2018 or earlier, please get in touch with our Parish Safeguarding Coordinator, Clare Thompson, at [email protected].  If you need help checking your date, Clare will be happy to assist.  The Archdiocese seeks updates on volunteer PVG Scheme membership every five years.
