Christmas Crib Offerings are always an important and significant source of the income of St Margaret of Scotland Children and Family care Society. This year, St Margaret’s is in greater need of funding than ever in order to continue its legal battle to offer an adoption service. The tribunal case has cost St Margaret’s £157, 000 to date (Tribunal scheduled to hand down its judgement on 31st January 2014). All offerings through the Christmas Crib box, and through the little collection boxes will be gratefully received. Please support the Society with your money and with your prayers. Little collection boxes to be returned by the end of January.
Have you ever considered adoption? You may be a couple with no children, you may be a parent already, but if you think you can offer a loving family home to a child or even siblings, then St Margaret’s would like to hear from you. Adoption can be a rewarding experience for you as parents, and it will make the world of a difference to children’s lives. For a confidential chat and further information, call 332 8371 or visit www.stmargaretsadoption.org.uk

Communion under both kinds - Holy Communion has a fuller form as a sign when it is distributed under both kinds. For in this form the sign of the eucharistic banquet is more clearly evident and clear expression is given to the divine will by which the new and eternal Covenant is ratified in the Blood of the Lord. What is also more clearly evident when Holy Communion is given under both kinds is the relationship between the Eucharistic banquet and the heavenly banquet in the Father's Kingdom.
While Holy Communion does have a fuller form as a sign when it is given under both kinds, the church very clearly teaches that Christ, whole and entire, is received even under only one kind, and consequently that as far as the effects are concerned, those who receive the Sacred Host only or the Precious Blood from the Sacred Chalice only are not deprived of any of the grace that is necessary for salvation.
