"Lord, send out your Spirit
and renew the face of the earth."

Day for Life is the day in the Church’s year dedicated to raising awareness about the meaning and value of human life at every stage and in every condition. The Church teaches that life is to be nurtured from conception to natural death. The second collection at all the Masses this weekend will be taken up to support the Church in her vital Pro-Life work.

The church is open on Fridays until 5pm, and on Saturdays until the 5pm vigil. Call in and enjoy the peace and quiet, and take time to sit in the stillness in the silence of God. Teas / coffees are served in the Hut after daily Mass. All most welcome.

Welcome to all our First Communicants and their families to today’s 10am Thanksgiving Mass followed by a big celebratory party in the hall.

Before receiving Holy Communion, we are asked to make some preparatory act of reverence such as a bow.

Sacrament of Confirmation will be celebrated this weekend Saturday and Sunday at 2pm. Keep our young parishioners in your prayers.

New P1 Welcome afternoon – next Sunday 12th June 2- 3.30pm in the hall.  Teas / coffees , juice & cakes will be served. An opportunity for new P1 families to get together before starting school, and an introduction to St Joseph’s and St Andrew’s  links with St Nicholas’, along with, of course,  some fun and games.

P7 leavers’ Party – Friday 17th June in St Andrew’s, plus Leavers’ Mass – 21st June in St Nicholas’ – more details soon.

Wonderful us welcoming Jacks, Rebecca, Jason and Rokas into the Church this Easter. Interested in becoming a Catholic?– Not baptised? Baptised in another faith? RCIA will begin in the autumn. Mackle if you would like to know more about RCIA and the Catholic faith.

Today is World Environment Day   In Laudato Si’ - On Care for Our Common Home - Pope Francis writes “All of us can cooperate as instruments of God for the care of creation, each according to his or her own culture, experience, involvements and talents.” (# 14)

Catholic Social Teaching Thought for the Week - (Pentecost) Do not grieve or complain that you were born in a time when you can no longer see God in the flesh. He did not in fact take this privilege from you. As He says: ‘Whatever you have done to the least of my brothers, you did to me’  Saint Augustine of Hippo
