"This is my chosen Son; listen to him."

During Lent the Rosary will be prayed from Monday to Friday at 9.30am, with Mass at 10am. Stations of the Cross are on Fridays at 6pm. Church open daily until 5pm.

A good and important part of a plan for Lent is Confession.  Medicine of Confession ~ brings great peace and immense joy.   Saturdays 10am - 11am.  Sundays 9.15am - 9.45am.

Adoration for Lent: Do come and spend some time each week to be still before God at our Saturday Adoration. If shopping at the cross, or out for a coffee, pop in to St Andrew's for some quiet prayer. Have a heart to heart with God each Saturday during Lent from 10am until 11am , with Confessions throughout. Sunday Confessions will be from 9.15am until 9.45am.

First Confession - Sacrament of Reconciliation – Saturday 25th March  - 10.00a.m – 11.00 a.m.
Family members are encouraged, too, to take the opportunity to go to the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Please keep in your prayers Gemma and Millie who look forward to being received into the Church this Easter.

Scratch Choir -  Easter Vigil Music invitation.  We would like to issue an invitation to all parishioners, including children (from P4 upwards), to form a scratch choir for the Easter Vigil at 8pm on 8th April. If you would like to contribute to the music liturgy , then please email Annamaria ([email protected]) by 5th March. Initial rehearsals will be in the form of a YouTube recording and there will a final rehearsal the week before Easter, to be arranged. All welcome.

Washing of the Feet – Volunteers required to have their feet washed at the Mass of the Lord’s Supper 7pm Thurs 6 April. Please enter your name on the sign-up sheet in the porch.

Catholic Social Teaching Thought for the Week - Sunday 5 March (Nearest Sunday to International Women’s Day (8March))    She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.        Proverbs 31:20

Laudato Si’ - On Care for our Common Home - Because all creatures are connected, each must be cherished with love and respect, for all of us as living creatures are dependent on one another. (#42)

Volunteers needed, please. After the 8th April Easter Vigil and after 8th May Confirmation Mass, we would like to have receptions in the hall. To do this on both occasions, we need volunteers to help with hall set up and clear up, and making teas and serving sandwiches. If we could have a group for each evening it would good.  Please get in touch if you can volunteer.

2nd Collection during Lent will be taken up to support our sick and retired priests. On 4th Sunday, the collection will be exclusively for SCIAF. Wee boxes available in the porch.

Sacrament of Reconciliation - Just a reminder for all P3 families that there are two SAS sessions for the Sacrament of Reconciliation this Sunday 5th March and the following Sunday at 9am until 9.45am leading in to the 10am Mass with children’s liturgy

Parishes will soon be asked to come together to work out how best to organise parish life in the archdiocese in coming years. In this month’s Flourish (pick up your copy this weekend) Archbishop Nolan makes it clear that change is on the cards.

Active Membership involves attending a meeting each week for one-and-a-half hours where the rosary is prayed and then business discussed, ensuing from the meeting, work is allocated and carried out in the days following the meeting, usually a further one-and-a-half hours work. The role of Auxiliary Members is to pray the rosary and say the prayers of the Legion for the work of the Legion within the Parish and worldwide.  If you are interested in being part of our work and would like further information, please contact Fr.
