ADVENT APPEAL weekends 2nd/3rd & 9th/10th December. It will soon be time for our Advent Appeal for the Christmas Gifts for Refugees and Homeless, so please start saving your toiletries etc.
Christmas Gifts – Our volunteers continue to deliver supermarket surplus each day to organisations including St Gregory’s, Wyndford and Aspire. Our intention this year is to give Christmas gifts to centres including the Wayside centre, www.thewaysideclubcentre.co.uk/ Aspire and for the first time Refuweegee www.refuweegee.co.uk/ a charity supporting refugees in Glasgow.
As ever, your help is needed to make this happen please. If you would like to help can you please either: Fill a large gift bag with one of each of the items listed below and leave in the box in the porch. These can be for ladies or gents.
Warm Hat, gloves, scarf, pants, shampoo, shower gel, deodorant, toothpaste and toothbrush and ladies gifts to include sanitary products.
A hand written Christmas card is always nice to include. Or provide any of the items on the list straight into separate bag provided.
It would really help our volunteers if items are in large gift bags rather than wrapped and each one includes all the items above. You'll see some spare gift bags in the porch if needed. Many, many thanks for your support as always. Veronica McLaughlin and volunteers

Any questions please call Anne MacIntosh 931-5861 or Annamaria Strachan 942-9799.

Laudato Si’ - On Care for our Common Home – It is remarkable how weak international political responses have been. Consequently the most one can expect is superficial rhetoric, sporadic acts of philanthropy and perfunctory expressions of concern for the environment, whereas any genuine attempt by groups within society to introduce change is viewed as a nuisance based on romantic illusions or an obstacle to be circumvented.
