Sign Up Sunday. Firstly, a huge thank you to all the volunteers who came along to make sign up Sunday such a great success. Secondly, more thanks go to the 54 parishioners who signed up, and all will be contacted soon by Fr Mackle. It is heart-warming that sign up Sunday has been so well attended and shows just how vibrant a community we have in St Andrew’s.
Frank Trias CP will be ordained next Saturday at 11am Mass in St Mungo’s, and celebrate his Mass of Thanksgiving here in St Andrew's at 10am next Sunday. All are invited to both Masses. Altar Servers’ Awards. Four Servers are due to be enrolled officially into the Archconfraternity of St. Stephen (Kirsty Kennedy on Sunday 6th December at the 10am Mass and Katie Paterson, John Woods and David Speirs the following weekend at the Vigil Mass). Each will receive the familiar bronze medal on a red cord, as they have demonstrated, by assisting at Mass regularly for over two years, their commitment to their parish ministry by serving at the Altar. At the same time, acknowledgement of long-standing service is also being made to Mairi Docherty who has served faithfully for over 5 years, this recognition being marked by exchanging her red cord for a yellow cord. Well done and congratulations to all concerned. We are very fortunate at St. Andrew’s to have a number of good and committed Servers. Although four lads have recently started serving, there is a real need for more Altar Servers: any approach to Fr Mackle or Chris Sanders will be most welcome.
Remember in your prayers Jackie and Geoff Harrison, and Ian Grant, who are journeying through RCIA. Today, at the 10am Mass, there is the Rite of Acceptance, which involves special prayers for them as part of the RCIA process
