whoever follows me will have the light of life."

St Andrew's Synodal Meetings
Please see this link for information on our Synodal Meetings and sign up form.

Our church is now open on Fridays until 5pm.

Children's Liturgy - The weekly video of the Sunday's Gospel reading on this link. An excellent resource for parents to use until the children’s liturgy starts back.

Children’s Liturgy – good news and another great sign of us getting back to some kind of normality ~ the Children’s Liturgy will start back at 10am Mass on Sunday 20th February.

St Andrews Squad (SAS), Sundays 20th Feb and 6th & 20th March , for all Primary 3 children in the parish celebrating the sacrament of Reconciliation this Lent. Please come along to the Upper Hall from 9am till 9.45am leading into 10am Mass with children’s liturgy.

Look out for your invitation to attend one of our synodal gatherings. There will be a gathering after each Mass weekend 19th / 20th Feb and one also on Thursday 24th Feb at 7pm. Details to book will soon be sent to you and posted on our social media. Plus, we’re making arrangements to post out a Synodal questionnaire / survey.  So, look out for that, too.
Pope Francis has invited every parish across the world to take part in this process of listening, praying and discerning. Hopefully, you will be free to attend one of the gatherings.
"The purpose of the synod..... is intended to inspire people to dream about the church we are called to be, to make hope flourish, to stimulate trust, to bind up wounds, to weave new and deeper relationships, to learn from one another, to build bridges, to enlighten minds, warm hearts, and restore strength to our hands for our common mission.”

The NET Ministries Scotland Team will be joining us for ‘Strength in Numbers’ retreat on Sunday 27th February 2022 in St Andrew’s Church. The retreat will begin with Mass at 10am followed by group discussions and activities. This retreat is aimed at young people from P6 – S6 and lunch will be provided. All Covid restrictions will be met and a booking system will be in place for track and trace purposes. Please see social media for a link to book or email
standrewsbearsdenyouth@gmail.com.

Huge thanks to all the parents for their time in coming along to Thursday’s Confirmation meeting. Again, it’s been so good to get back to these meetings in person. If you didn't manage along, please get in touch, as one of the things we need is parental consent to live stream the Confirmation Masses. We’ll be posting details soon of a joint parishes’ catechesis afternoon for the P7s.

There will be a half price sale of selected Piety Stall stock in the Lower Hall next Sunday 13th February after the 10am and 12 noon Masses.  As always, all profits will go to Church funds.   May we kindly request that attendees wear masks, unless exempt, and bring cash to pay for their purchases as there are no card machine payment facilities, thank you.

As we journey through this year, and especially with many of the restrictions having been eased, it would be good to have more and more people coming back to Mass. For your reassurance, we have two dedicated areas for social distancing in the church, which is well ventilated and safe for all at all times.

World day of Prayer for the Association of Bearsden Churches will be held on Friday 4th March at 11am in Bearsden Cross Church. All are most welcome. Theme : ‘ I know the plans I have for you’

Mary’s Meals will be visiting our parish 12th/13th Feb to give a short update and information talk at all Masses. A retiring collection taken up to support their vital work.  Please note, this year there will NOT be a collection of unwanted clothing.

The Beginning Experience are holding a weekend at St Mary’s, Kinnoull, Perth 25th – 27th March for those who find themselves suffering from bereavement through divorce, separation or widowhood. For more details contact Catherine on 0131 665 3383 or email beginningexpereincescotland@hotmail.com before 12th March.

The 2021 Safeguarding audit has now been completed by our parish's Safeguarding Coordinator, Clare Thompson, and returned to the archdiocesan Safeguarding Office. For Archdiocesan Safeguarding information and updates, visit rcag.org.uk   See our social media or the Bishops of Scotland website for the most recent copy of the safeguarding newsletter, ‘Safeguarding Matters’.

Between now and Easter, please keep in your prayers Jackie, Rebecca, Jason and Rokas, who look forward to being received into the Church at Easter.
