Youth Retreat for young people aged 16+ in the Upper Hall this Thursday 11th June at 7pm. The event will focus on the theme of the World Youth Event being held in Stirling in July. There will be a variety of activities, time for prayer and the evening will end with a social event. This promises to be an enjoyable and reflective evening led by Kate and Lucy who are very experienced at working with young adults, so please sign up on the sheets available in the porch, if you are interested in attending.
Ordination - Deacon Frank Trias will be ordained a priest for the Congregation of the Passionists on Saturday, 12th December at 11am Mass in St Mungo’s, Townhead, and celebrate his first Mass here in St Andrew's at 10am on Sunday, 13th December. Keep Frank in your prayers during the course of the coming months as he prepares for Ordination to Priesthood.
Interested in becoming a Catholic? Not baptised? Baptised in another faith? The RCIA Programme (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) will begin in the autumn. RCIA is the process by which adults are received into the Catholic Church. The programme of catechesis and instruction prepares adults for the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist, usually celebrated at the Easter Vigil. Please speak to Fr. Mackle or Monsignor Ryan if you have any questions about receiving the Sacraments as an adult, or if you would like to know more about RCIA and the Catholic faith.

Year of Mercy - 8th December 2015, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, to 20th November 2016, the Solemnity of Christ the King, is to highlight the Church's mission to be a witness of mercy. Pope Francis said, "We want to live this year in the light of the Lord's words, “Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful" Luke 6:36. Further details in the coming months.

St. Andrew's Carpet Bowls annual outing Thurs 18th June to New Lanark and then on to Peebles where High Tea will be served at 5 pm. We have hired a 50 seater bus with toilet facilities and are inviting any non-members to join us. £16 per head. Bus will leave Roman Rd car park at 9.45 am and leave Peebles around 7 pm. St Andrew’s Primary PTA are thrilled to tell you an amazing £2,638.67 was raised at our Ladies Charity Night last Friday. We also got a donation of £14 for Team Lewis so they'll get a total of £1,333.34 and school funds £1,319.33. Sincere thanks to everyone who came along and made it the great night it was, to those who couldn’t manage but bought raffle tickets etc in advance, to everyone who donated a prize and to the team who assisted with the running of the event and the pre-sale of raffle tickets.
