The rosary is recited—Each weekday morning at 9.40 before Mass in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel.

Children’s Choir Dates— December 15th plus December 25th.  At 10.00 a.m. Mass.  For queries contact Annamaria Strachan 942-9799 or 07749715514.

The Piety Stall—Has a large selection of Christmas cards and calendars.  Cards for all occasions.

Visit Scotland for Marriage Website—And sign the marriage petition today. 

Padre Pio Prayer Group - Meets in the church every Monday for one hour beginning at 7:00 p.m. All are very welcome.

The Archbishop— Has chosen to appoint Deacon Tommy Thompson as Parish Deacon at St Ninian’s, Knightswood. We wish Deacon Tommy every blessing, happiness and success in his ministry there, and thank him for his faithful service in St Andrew’s over the recent years.

During the 12noon Mass— Today we liturgically welcome John Harper and Robbie McKechnie, who are engaged in RCIA, the process of becoming Catholics. Please keep them in your prayers in the months ahead.

Masses for Christmas – Christmas Eve Carol Service at 11.30pm followed by Mass at Midnight. Christmas Day – 10.00am and 12.00pm.

An appeal for poinsettias— To help decorate the sanctuary for Christmas. If you would like to donate a poinsettia, please hand it in to the church the weekend before Christmas. Many thanks.

Festive Coffee Morning  -- Next Sunday 15th December. Please come along and join us for mince pies and tea/coffee/ mulled wine after 10am and 12noon Masses in the upper hall. All donations of home baking gratefully received. (no nuts please)

Diocesan Pastoral Provision Information Evening – For Parish Pastoral Councils and clergy of our deanery – Monday, 9th December at 7pm in St Mary’s Hall, Duntocher.

Special Collections for Advent & Christmas – St Nicholas Care Fund – 14th / 15th December; Pro-Life – 28th / 29th December; Justice & Peace – 4th / 5th January. St Margaret Children and Family Care Society – Christmas Crib Offerings.

SVDP Christmas Appeal—Last year, £3000 was raised to help many families.  Hopefully, again this year, car loads of toys will be sent to many needy families, including very grateful asylum seekers, identified by our friends in Govan and St Laurence’s SVDP in Drumchapel. All donations will be gratefully received. Again many thanks for your wonderful support.

The SVDP - Is always looking for new members and, if you could feel you could spare some of your time to support us in our work, then please contact Michael Henry ( 942 1170).

The Sacrament of Confirmation—This year’s Confirmation of Baptised Children was the last of it being celebrated at the P4 stage. In future, the Confirmation of Baptised Children will be celebrated at the P7 stage. The timing of the other Sacraments for Baptised Children, First Confession (P3) and First Holy Communion (P4) remains unchanged.

The Halls Committee— Are looking for some new members to help with the management of the halls.  This would be for a 3 year term.  If you feel you can help in any way - we meet only a few times per year - please contact Fr. Mackle giving your name and phone no. and we will be pleased to discuss the matter with you.

Philippines Disaster – Archbishop Tartaglia will celebrate Mass for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan today Sunday 8th December at 3.00pm at St Aloysius church, Garnethill. All welcome. Tea and coffee after Mass.

Carol Singing at ASDA—Next Saturday, 14th December  12pm – 1pm. Churches together bringing some Christmas cheer to shoppers.

Parish Family Christmas Party—Next Saturday 14th December, 2pm to 4pm in the Upper Hall.  Tickets - £6 per family.  Please bring a wrapped gift for a child labelled Boy/Girl and age range as a donation to charity. Tickets on sale at the Toddler Group every Thursday 10:30am to 1:30pm in the Lower Hall or contact Elizabeth Flanagan on 07714 241092 or Caroline Flanagan on 07867 862022.”

Connect & Encourage—Greetings card campaign. Where will you be this Christmas? Would you like to send  a card during the festive season to someone persecuted for his / her beliefs? List of addresses is available in the porch.

St Nicholas Care Fund Box—Collect any loose change during advent and hand it in at Christmas please. The 2nd collection next weekend 14th / 15th will be for the Care Fund. 

Christmas Gifts for the Soup Run— Will be distributed this Friday 13th December Thank you for your support.
