Communication and Mercy

May Devotions – Rosary & Benediction, Sundays at 4.30pm
 
Family Food and Fun Summer Social -St Andrew’s, St Benedict’s, St Joseph’s & St Laurence’s Cluster. Food and Fun for all the Family!  Sunday, 12th June 1.30pm – 4.00pm in St Andrew’s halls and grounds.  Soft drinks included but BYOB.  Adults: £1 Children: 50p. Tickets on sale soon.
 
Special Second Collection for Communications Sunday.
 
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion – meeting Thursday, 19th May at 2pm in the chapel-house.
 
Many thanks to everyone who helped contribute to the success of the recent Youth Mass.
 
World Youth Day 2016 The young people of the parish attending the W Y D in Krakow would like to thank Veronica Maguire and her team and all the parishioners for supporting their coffee morning which raised £194.  Many thanks also to the many parishioners who also made individual donations to the group on the day.
 
Quiz Night tonight Saturday (7pm for 7.30pm until 11pm, BYOB) to raise funds for World Youth Day. Small number of tickets left – call 942 4635. Many thanks to those who have already bought their tickets.
 
St Andrew’s Squad (SAS), today, Sunday for all Primary 4 children in the parish celebrating First Holy Communion. Upper Hall - 9am till 9.45am. For information, please contact Margaret Hendry on 563 9993. Thank you.
 
First Holy Communion celebrations for our parish community will take place at the 12noon Masses on 15th and 22nd May. Please keep the first communicants in your prayers. Rehearsals – Thurs 12th and 19th May, 10am Mass followed by rehearsal.
 
Piety Stall: cards and gifts on sale for First Holy Communion and all other occasions..

First Communicants Thanksgiving Mass - Sunday 5th June at 10am Mass during which all the communicants will be presented with their First Holy Communion certificate, and invited after Mass into the hall with their families for a party.

Feast Of St Julie Billiart – An invitation to celebrate the feast of St Julie
Billiart with the Notre Dame Community in Scotland at the Immaculate Conception Church Hall, Friday 13 May at 7.30 pm. All most welcome.
 
Pentecost Ecumenical Celebration – Sunday, 15th May at 6.30pm in Castlehill Baptist Church, Castlehill Primary School, Rosslyn Road. Organised by Assocation of Bearsden Churches. All most welcome.
 
Rachel’s  Vineyard Weekend Retreat 24 - 26 June. For spiritual and emotional healing after abortion. Will be held near Glasgow. This confidential, supportive retreat is powerful for anyone who has been affected by their own or someone else's abortion experience. SVDP charity concert in Woodlands Halls on Friday 27th May. Proceeds from the concert will go to support the work of the Ozanam Centre in Glasgow. Details of both these events are on the noticeboard in the porch.
 
The Annual Fundraising Ceilidh for SPRED (Glasgow) is being held on Friday 3rd June in St Thomas' s Riddrie where our grand raffle will be drawn.Raffle tickets will be on sale after all our Masses 14/15 and 21/22 May.We are very grateful for your support. Lorna Donnelly, 942 0696.
 
KVO Big Band are raising funds for Bethany Christian Trust by holding a concert at Killermont Parish Church on Wed 11 May at 7.45 pm. Tickets are £5 and include tea, coffee etc and are available at the door.
 
Your donations to Drumchapel Foodbank will be gratefully received; non-perishable goods such as cans, rice, pasta toilet rolls, nappies etc are much needed and delivered to the Foodbank every Monday morning. Thank you
 
Baptism Course – parents and godparents of children to be baptised soon are asked to attend the next preparation course on Thursday, 2nd June at 7pm.

The Legion of Mary monthly pilgrimage to Carfin this Friday 13th May. B
leaves from the Car Park opposite the Post Office in Milngavie at 6.30pm. Cost £6. If interested please place your name on the list in the porch. For further information contact Liz Healy on 07704 059953. All most welcome.
 
St. Andrew's Carpet Bowls summer outing will be on Thursday, 16 June. Cardwell Garden Centre for morning coffee, afternoon spent in Largs, and on to Seamill Hydro for High Tea at 5 pm. Bus will leave Roman Rd. at 10 am and return approx. 8.30 pm. Cost to non-members is £20 and those who joined us last year thoroughly enjoyed it. Please contact D. Bearsden Choir.  Will be singing an all Elgar Concert on Sat 14th May in Glasgow City Halls at 7.30pm. Concert comprises his ‘Music Makers’, ‘Sea Pictures’ and three beautiful part songs (incl ‘The Snow’).  Tickets for this excellent concert still available.  Details on handbill in Church porch, or phone Chris Sanders on 942 7519.
