Rehearsal & SAS ~ Huge thanks to everyone for coming along to Thursday's First Holy
Communion rehearsal.
Remember, this Sunday, May 8, all Primary 4 children in the parish should, please, come along to the Upper Hall at 9am leading into the 10am Mass with children’s liturgy. As the focus for this Sunday's SAS session will be about sharing a meal, we'll provide a small Brioch (chocolate or plain) with a juice drink.
First Communicants Thanksgiving Mass – 10am 5th June followed by a party in the hall.
The Piety Stall has a large selection of First Communion cards and gifts on sale.
Before receiving Holy Communion, we are asked to make some preparatory act of reverence such as a bow.
Sunday Rosary at 4.30pm throughout the Month of May led by the parish’s Legion of Mary.
We wish the P7s a great day’s retreat this Tuesday beginning with 10am Mass. Organised by the archdiocesan youth group and our Youth Ministry Team. Doing their bit for the planet and keeping COP26 alive, P7s will be walking to and from the church.
Sacrament of Confirmation for Primary 7 pupils will be on 4th & 5th June at 2pm. All P7 pupils are invited to an SAS / Catclub session at St Joseph's Church hall this Thursday 12th May 6pm to 7.30pm. This will be run by St Andrew's and St Joseph's and it is a chance for all P7 candidates to get to together and explore Confirmation a little more. We look forward to seeing the P7s on 12th May, and to their celebration of Confirmation in June.
Children’s Liturgy at the 10am Sunday Mass has resumed. As we are hoping to move to two groups again of P1–P3 and P4-P7, we are looking for more leaders and helpers. We would expect involvement to be no more than once per month, all materials are provided and initial involvement will be in a supporting role for the group leaders. Children’s Liturgy is run during school term time only and is a hugely rewarding and fun Ministry within our Church. All those involved in working with children and vulnerable adults must complete Disclosure Scotland and attend Safeguarding Training (on zoom) provided by the Archdiocese, which is all organised through the Parish and will not take up too much of your time. If you are interested in becoming involved in the Children’s Liturgy team, please contact Sharon on [email protected]
Save the date ~ St Nicholas’ Parents will be holding a uniform event to recycle uniforms and reduce waste on Sunday 24th July after 10am Mass in the upper hall. Details soon regarding arrangements for collection of any items of school uniform that your child has outgrown or no longer has a need for.

Across the country, households of all shapes and sizes, schools, community groups and businesses, will gather new evidence and count their plastic for one week – 16-22 May 2022.
This will show how much plastic we are really having to throw away, and help push the government, brands and supermarkets to take bold action to tackle the plastic crisis and ban sending our waste to other countries.
