​Boundary Wall- the work to repair the unsafe Boundary Wall between the Church and Roman Court has now been completed, the access restriction lifted, and we are grateful for your cooperation during the works. Please feel free to view the Garden and see the completed works for yourself. The project has allowed us to incorporate some of the excellent suggestions from Parishioners.
 
To build on the success of the landscaping and building project, we would be grateful to anyone who would like to volunteer assisting the gardening group continue with enhancing our grounds. If you think you could help the group of volunteers, regardless of your knowledge, you would be most welcome to potter with the group or help with the ongoing maintenance.

Drumchapel FoodbankAs school meals are not provided during school holidays, many families are under additional pressure to provide for their children. If you're able to bring even just one tinned meal to Mass over the summer months and leave in the porch, these would be very gratefully received. Many thanks
 
Iona Retreat Meeting – All information regarding our parish’s Golden Jubilee Iona Retreat is contained in the letter which retreatants received a few months ago. However, for those who might have any questions or concerns, there will be a short meeting in the Upper Hall at 6pm on Thursday 20th July 2017.
 
Monsignor Henry, whose grave is in New Kilpatrick Cemetery, Boclair Road, was parish Priest of St Andrew’s from 1978 – 1995.  The contribution he made to the development of St.Andrew’s, particularly in driving forward the construction of the present church building, was immense. In this Golden Jubilee Year, and on the anniversary of his death, the rosary will be prayed at his grave for the peaceful repose of his soul and for the eternal rest of all the faithful departed. All are most welcome. Please gather at the cemetery gates at 2pm on Sunday, 6th August.

Abortion Petition –the British Medical Association has sadly voted to call for the decriminalisation of abortion. To show our desire to protect innocent life SPUC have asked us to sign a petition in opposition to the campaign to extend abortion. This is available at the back of the church – please sign it and show your concern to defend those who cannot defend themselves.

Ogilvie Statue Campaign Launch –takes place at St Andrew’s Cathedral Sunday 23rd July at 3pm. There will be a public rosary and a scene from Stephen Callaghan’s play on St John Ogilvie. This is the public launch of the campaign to build a statue of the saint at Glasgow Cross.
 
Our Golden Jubilee Year Day Trip to Carfin for the National Pilgrimage Mass and Rosary Procession. Sunday, September 3rd. Bus will leave from Roman Road at 1pm and return 7.30pm. Cost £3. Please sign sheet in porch, if you would like to go.
 
Sacrament of Confirmation will be celebrated for P7 pupils of St Andrew’s and St Joseph’s Parishes in St Joseph’s Church 7pm 6th February 2018.  Enrolment forms available in the porch to be returned please by 30th July.
 
Date to note – The Sacrament of Confirmation in Primary 7. There will be a meeting for parents and sponsors on Thursday 28th September 2017 at 7pm in St Joseph’s Church Hall, Milngavie.
 
Evening Pilgrimage to Carfin for St Joseph’s and St Andrew’s – this Thursday 13th July. Bus will leave at 6.30pm at the Post Office in Milngavie and return at 9.30pm. All are very welcome.
 
Celebrate Scotland – 2-3 Sept. St Ninian’s High, Giffnock. Catholic Charismatic Weekend Conference. For more details and information, pick up a flyer from the porch or visit www.celebrateconference.org.  Some parish subsidy may be available.

Nick Pryce’s Ordination to Permanent Diaconate will be celebrated here in the parish on Friday 8th September at 6pm Mass followed by a reception in the hall to which everyone is invited. Keep Nick and Trish and their family in your prayers
 
Interested in becoming a Catholic? – Not baptised? Baptised in another faith? The RCIA Programme (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adult) will begin in the autumn.RCIA is the process by which adults are received into the Catholic Church.The programme of catechesis and instruction prepares adults for the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist, usually celebrated at theVigil.Please speak to Fr. Mackle if you would like to know more about RCIA and the Catholic faith.

Youth Noticeboard – had a look at it lately? New photos added of recent youth events – the April Youth Prayer Service, the Mission Week Youth Mass, and the Caritas Awards Ceremony. Dates to note for youth in our Golden Jubilee Year - Primary 6 Day Retreat 26th Oct; NET Ministries Day 29th Oct; Nightfever 16th Dec; Children’s Choir Concert 17th Dec. Plus, we’re hoping to arrange, with St Joseph’s, a joint reunion for P7s, sometime before the end of the year.

Nullity of Marriage – If you wish (or someone you know wishes) any information about approaching the tribunal to see about a declaration of nullity of marriage then please speak to one of the clergy. Remember too that the marriage tribunal no longer charges fees, so that for most people there will be no costs involved.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament – each Saturday from 10.30am until 12.30pm. Please consider coming to spend time in adoration and prayer each Saturday. We would like to have a number of adorers for each half hour. Sign up sheet for you to initial or sign is in the porch.

It is a good read of several young men who have discerned a vocation to the Priesthood.
 
Divine Mercy Novena is prayed weekdays after morning Mass in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. All most welcome. Legion of Mary meets on Tuesdays at 7.30pm in the Hut. New members always welcome.
 
Mgr. Ryan was overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness he received on the occasion  of his ‘special birthday’. But most especially on the 50th Anniversary of his priesthood.  It would be impossible to thank everyone individually. He hopes that you will understand this. The Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
