The St Andrew's Parish Christmas Fair - Sunday, 16th Nov after 10am and 12noon Masses. There will be a selection of charities at the event. All profits from the piety stall go to Church funds. Tea and coffee will be served at this event after both Masses and donations of home baking would be most welcome (no nuts please) and may be handed in to the upper hall before Mass. This month we are raising funds for ' Inclusive Skating ' a registered charity, whose goal is to develop a programme that will include all skaters with an impairment and will allow them to participate in all competitions and events on an equal basis. The charity is also campaigning for the sport to be included in the paralympics. One of our parishioners, Margarita Sweeney Baird is the founder and driving force behind this charity. So please come along and support this event.

This is part of an exercise involving all participants at Mass, ie Readers, Extra-ordinary Ministers, etc. It is only necessary to attend one of the two sessions which are planned for Saturday 8th November (straight after the Vigil Mass) and Sunday 9th November (straight after the 10am Mass). They are unlikely to last more than half an hour.
Musicians still needed for Vigil Mass We are very fortunate in St. Andrew's to have some excellent musicians which include four organists, a Folk Group and the Young Musicians. However, we are occasionally faced with a situation when, despite this, we have nobody to play. It usually affects Vigil Mass. We are looking for volunteers to fill in occasionally. It would not be an onerous task, possibly once every couple of months. If you feel you could help, please could you contact Fr. Mackle or Susan Morrison (07580086381 or 01415637959) We would be delighted to hear from you.

We will soon be starting to ask for nominations for membership on the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC), to replace those who stepped down recently after a number of years of faithful service. We thank them for all their good work over the years, and we look forward to appointing new members to the PPC. Members are appointed to serve a three year term and membership is open to active parishioners over the age of 16. The Council is a planning body of parishioners which fosters the full participation of the entire parish in the life and mission of the Church as lived out in St. Andrew’s Parish. In consultation with the Parish Priest, the PPC actively listens to and identifies the needs and concerns of parishioners and helps develop a plan to respond to those needs. Please think about who you would like to nominate to become a member of the PPC. We are particularly looking for parishioners who would represent, on the PPC, the youth of the parish.
Five things I can do to promote Vocations to the priesthood as an elderly or housebound person. Please pick up a copy of the ‘five things’ leaflet from the porch or pick one up for a housebound parishioner.
