This Wednesday 12th October at 2pm – 8pm in St Andrew’s Primary - a drop-in community information event re Proposed Final Design for the new build school on the St Andrew’s Primary School site. Anyone who would like to see the final design and make comments is invited to attend. There will be an opportunity to record your comments by completing a questionnaire or by contacting 0300 123 4510— [email protected] Also, the Parent Council would be delighted to hear feedback from parents about the new school, once you’ve seen the designs.
 
Cluster Group - St Andrew's, St Benedict's and St Joseph's meets this Thursday at 7pm in St Andrew's to begin to look at ways in which we can work and serve together, and share our resources.
 
October Devotions - Rosary and Benediction - Sundays at 4.30pm.
 
Landscaping work, at the entrance of the drive, to create our 50th anniversary Jubilee Garden has begun.  It will have paved pathways with two entrances leading to a patio with benches. Surrounded with flower borders it will be open to all. Official opening - next May.
 
Primary Three Parents intending to present their child for the Sacraments, please complete an enrolment form available in the porch and return it by next Sunday, 16th October. Mass of Commitment for Primary Three families will be at 10am on Sunday 30th October.
 
St Andrew’s The 29 Club  (200 Club ) New Season  It’s our Church Golden Jubilee Year coming up and a new season for our popular 29 Club. All our fundraising is used to support our Parish Development Fund; various charitable causes  and ...  you can win one of the many cash prizes on offer during the year,  We need YOUR support please!!  Vacancies are available now for the 2016/17 season with membership at £6 per month or £65 per annum. Simply leave your name and address details with one of our Finance Team who are available after Mass.  Existing members please pick up your renewal letter now available at the back of the Church.  Thank you all for your continued support!   Come and Join Us !!    Contact   Brian Donnelly on 942-6085 or Father Mackle on 942-4635.
 
Evening Pilgrimage to Carfin for St Joseph’s and St Andrew’s – this Thursday 13th October. Bus will leave at 6.30pm at the Post Office in Milngavie and return at 9.30pm. All are very welcome.
 
An Evening discussion on Ecumenism – 24th Oct at 7pm at the archdiocesan offices, 196 Clyde Street. All most welcome. An opportunity for us, as a parish, to share our own experience of churches together in Bearsden.
 
Drumchapel Foodbank – Donations of items of sustainable foods eg tins, pasta, cereals, toiletries, eg toilet rolls, kitchen rolls always gratefully received. Collection boxes in the porch are taken every Monday morning to the Foodbank. Thank you for your help.
 
Support in bereavement Group - anyone seeking assistance, who is suffering a bereavement (not necessarily recently) and feels they could benefit from talking to someone about it, please speak to Father Mackle or Monsignor Ryan.
 
The Cardinal Winning 39th Charity Ball - 2nd December at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Tickets £80 each includes 5 course dinner, dancing, cabaret and an auction conducted by Mr Andy Cameron. In aid of SPRED, The Mungo Foundation and the St Nicholas Care Trust.   Email  [email protected]
 
Annual  Pro-Life Torchlight Procession will take place on Thursday 27th Oct beginning at 6pm from George Square followed with a Mass in the Cathedral. All most welcome
 
Safeguarding Training - Volunteers who work in the parish with children and/or vulnerable adults, who haven't been free to attend previous safeguarding training meetings, are asked to attend on 14th November 7-9pm at 196 Clyde Street, G1 4JY. Ladies' Glamorous Night in Aid of the White Lily Fund which raises money for Cancer Research in the West of Scotland— Friday 18th November at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Champagne Reception, Stalls, Dinner and Dancing. Wonder-Full – exploring the wonders of our existence in an intriguing evening of film, music and conversation about the wonders of life on earth. Friday 28th Oct – 7.30pm – Killermont Parish Church, Rannoch Drive. For more information, pick up a leaflet from the porch. Part of Grasping the Nettle initiative exploring the topic of science and God.
