St Andrew's and St Joseph's parishes.
To date, both parishes have very few P3 and P7 pupils enrolled for the celebration of the Sacraments in 2022. If you've still to enrol your child, please collect an enrolment form from your parish asap. Many thanks Each year from September 1 to October 4, the Christian family unites for this worldwide celebration of prayer and action to protect our common home. This year, let us pray for the success of COP26 and for our own efforts to care for creation.
God our father, help us to open our hearts and minds to the cry of the Earth and the cry of the Poor. We ask this through Christ our Lord, Amen. Catholic Social Teaching Thought for the Week - 26th September - World Day of Migrants and Refugees25/9/2021 The Archdiocesan Youth Office has now reopened and is fully functioning again .
Youth Workers, Mairi-Claire, Michelle and Ben are only too happy to give any assistance or advice needed in parishes. They're at [email protected]. Our Primary 6 All Saints' Day retreat, unfortunately, has had to be cancelled, due to EDC’s restrictions . We’re hoping it can be rearranged for the new year. We're also hoping the Pope Francis Faith Award will be able to get arranged soon, and, possibly, Caritas. We’re looking forward to welcoming NET back to the parish, plus arranging a retreat with the archdiocese for our P7s . There’s plenty happening next month for our young people with the COP26 poster competition, COP26 Youth Day of activities on 24 Oct , and the walk, cycle or scoot to Mass on COP26 weekend 6/7 Nov. Requiescat in pace
The funeral for Sylvia Tartaglia will take place on Wednesday 29th September at 12 Noon in the parish of the Immaculate Conception, Maryhill. Please pray for Mrs Tartaglia and the peaceful repose of her soul, and for Michael and his family that they may be comforted. Here is the link on which Mrs Tartaglia's Funeral Mass will be streamed www.churchservicesTV/Maryhill and the Mass will remain on the same address for 30 days. As track and trace is still required, and capacity in the church will be limited, people are being encouraged, if they can, to participate in the funeral Mass by following the link rather than attending the church. Hi Everyone
As an active supporter and worker for Justice & Peace in our city, country and world, I know that you will be committed to Pope Francis’ call to heed the Cry of the Earth, the Cry of the Poor. Accordingly, I am writing to personally invite you to join with the parishioners and youth of St Peter’s, Patrick, in a service based on Laudato Si' in preparation for COP26, “A Prayer for Our Earth”. This service has been compiled by members of the Catholic Worker Movement (Glasgow), the Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Conception, Justice & Peace Scotland, St Peter’s Parish and SCIAF, and will take place in St Peter’s, Partick, on Sunday 3rd October at 4pm. The booklet for the service can be seen and downloaded on the Justice & Peace Scotland website, though copies will be available at the service in St Peter’s. I do hope that you will be able to attend. Regards Rick Jackson Glasgow Archdiocese Justice & Peace Commission St. Andrew’s Whist will restart this Wednesday 29th Sept in the Lower Hall, 2pm – 4pm.
Tea and coffee will be served. Entry £2. Looking forward to seeing everyone again and to welcoming new folk. COVID safety measures will be in place and face-coverings must be worn. Great to see that bit by bit our halls being used again. |
