We invite all families who have had a celebration of baptism within the past year to attend online the live streamed 10am Mass on Sunday, 10th January, 2021, or you might want to attend in church ( remember, though, you would need to register first with the church booking system and then book seats). Go to the homepage of this site.
It’s so unfortunate that we can’t all gather together this year for this Mass, as we would normally do, but, hopefully, we’ll get the opportunity to gather together sometime soon. Our piety stall staff, during these difficult times, with the help of our online team, rose to the challenge of the past year magnificently by setting up the parish piety stall online. In continuing to operate these past months, order and collect, and delivery of items has worked well.
A huge thank you to those who generously give of their time serving in the piety stall, and to the parishioners who support the stall with their purchase. The fantastic amount of £900 profit was raised during 2020, which is a great boost to parish funds. We’ll be keeping all the cribs (in both halls, in the church and both outdoor ones) up for 40 days through to Candlemas on 2nd February.
Why not keep yours up in your home until then? It's such a terrific visual aid and the 40 days allow us to adore the new-born Christ for longer. When you’re out for your tier 4 stroll, feel free to call in for a wee prayer before our outdoor cribs. See if you can find our crib in the Spirit of Peace garden. Happy Boxing Day! Hope you had a lovely Christmas Day. A very different Christmas for many of us, it has been this year. Together, in this strangest of years, whether you attended Christmas Mass online or in church, we joyfully united in the celebration of the birth of Jesus, our Infant King, who brings us peace, comfort and consolation. In these difficult times, our church could not be open and our Masses being celebrated without the help of all our volunteers. Many people are involved in so many ways, thankfully, helping and volunteering, looking after all the Masses, managing numbers of attendees, and ensuring at all times that our church, halls and grounds are safe and secure areas for all. To all who help and volunteer in all areas of the life and mission of our parish of St Andrew, I thank you all sincerely. Great seeing the photos of your cribs being posted in. Keep them coming. Please send to [email protected] Again, this year, we'll be keeping the crib up for 40 days through to Candlemas on 2nd February. Why not keep yours up in your home until then? It's such a terrific visual aid and the 40 days allows us to adore the new-born Christ for longer. Wishing your Boxing Day is full of plenty R & R. Fr Mackle |
