The action centres around four female characters, all of which remain on stage throughout and are highlighted by a spotlight as they speak.
The story is set in the present day but charts the events of the life of the Blessed Virgin Mary through the experiences of these four women.
Their stories intertwine and, as things unfold, each must look for hope as Mary did. Mareshka works in a nightclub. Moira is a nurse who has made many pilgrimages to Lourdes. Maureen is the mother of a priest. Maria is an elderly religious sister, waiting in hope.
