Hope all’s well.
A big part of the new normal for our young people and their parents, for months now, has been lockdown homeschooling. It is looking like, as well, that this will be continuing for a while yet with the council talking about blended education in both home and school being the way forward for the foreseeable future.
When we think of our faith and the formation of it, it starts first at home, and then teachers and parish help it to grow and to become more formal.
Hopefully, parents are finding the catechetical material produced by the archdiocese helpful for home schooling, especially the most recent Confirmation video for P7s.
Anyway, when Paul was writing to Timothy (today’s first reading) he said, ‘Ever since you were a child, you have known the scriptures’.
We start learning from when we’re young and we never stop learning. It’s life long.
We never stop being schooled. We never stop being formed.
Paul’s words to Timothy are addressed to us too: ‘Keep to what you have been taught and know to be true’.
Brief update - All parishes are hoping to receive soon infection control and liturgical guidelines, and our parish’s working group, which is composed of PPC, Liturgy, Finance members, Maintenance & clergy is very much focussed on the safe reopening of our church.
Remember, if you have any pilgrimages pics, send them in.
Have a safe and happy Friday.
Take care
