After seeking clarification from the Scottish Government, the archdiocese has written to all parishes tonight, Tuesday, to say that the Stay at Home guidance which is now in regulations and came into force at 00:01hrs on 5th January does not allow for any exemption to attend a place of worship between now and Friday.
This effectively means that churches should be closed for both Mass and individual prayer with immediate effect.
There will therefore not be a public Mass tomorrow 6th January in St Andrew’s, although it will be live streamed.
