Hope all’s well.
I remember my dad and I taking the opportunity in the early 90s of a low cost flight and spending a few days in Dublin.
As I’m always looking for a bargain, while there, it was in and out of some charity shops. I saw this chalice shaped peutar cup, and what attracted me to it was the image and design of a deer on it. I bought it for a couple of pounds.
For years now, it’s been part of a small Mass kit which I use whenever I’m on holiday.
A line from today’s responsorial psalm is ‘Like the deer that yearns for running streams, so my soul is yearning for you, my God’.
Like the deer’s yearning for running water, let us always keep our desire for God alive.
Let us ask God today to reinforce our hope in him; to increase our courage, our patience and our perseverance.
Like the deer that drinks from the running stream, may people, in this time of lockdown without the celebration of the sacraments, drink especially in and through prayer from the well of God’s grace, from the fountain of his mercy and compassion.
Keep the May altar images coming. Great to see the collection building up online.
Hope you have a lovely day
Take care
