Hope all's well.
No rain today, thankfully. Looking like it’s going to another sunny one.
Similar to yesterday, a focus on Acts of the Apostles.
Peter is performing miracles. The sick are being cured. The dead are being raised to life. Wonderful. All done in the name of Christ.
A man who had been paralysed for eight years was cured in Christ's name.
All who saw these miracles converted and became followers.
A woman who had been ill died and Peter prayed in Christ's name. She opened her eyes and sat up.
Many in the town who heard about the miracles believed in Jesus.
This power of Christ is still with us.
It is still with us in the Church. It is with us especially in the Eucharist.
When Jesus was giving his teaching on the Eucharist, many of his followers couldn't accept it and walked away, because they had to decide for themselves that being a follower means believing in his teaching most especially on the Eucharist.
Even the 12 were asked, 'What about you, do you want to walk away too?'
Peter's answer is to be our answer, 'You have the message of eternal life, and we believe'
There are many things that people are looking forward to doing when this lockdown is over. For us, one of the many things will be getting back to Mass and receiving Jesus in holy communion, for only he has the message of eternal life and in him we believe.
Great seeing photos of May altars in our parish on this link and on our social media. If you would like to share a photo, please send it in to [email protected]
Hope you have a lovely day
Take care
