Hope all’s well.
The Bishops’ working party meets today to plan for the future reopening of our churches, and they’ll be preparing training for Diocesan and Parish Coordinators in safety & infection control precautions.
A huge congratulations to all the 29 Club winners. Full list of winners online. 29 Club paid out almost £3k in prizes yesterday, and it’s a terrific fundraiser for our parish.
Look out for the parish pilgrimages photos appeal, and if you’ve got one or two, email them in, please.
Okay, a wee bit about today’s word of God.
‘You should be living holy and saintly lives’. Peter’s words to the early Christians and to us today.
The call to be holy and saintly isn’t for a chosen few. It’s not for a select group.
It is a call to you and me to do our best day in day out and often each day.
We’re in the 9th week of ordinary time year 2. Take a look at today’s first reading. It mentions ‘the Day of God’.
While we are waiting and longing for the Day of God, while we are waiting for our personal encounter with God, the best way to prepare is to grow in love and knowledge of Christ, to pray, and to love and serve our neighbour.
Today’s the gift of another day. Let’s thank God for it.
It’s another day for us to rise to the challenge to live holy and saintly lives.
Yes, this is what God’s calling you and me to do and to do daily.
Have a safe and happy Tuesday
Take care
