Hope all’s well
Continuing yesterday’s theme of pilgrimage. We’re all pilgrims. We’re a pilgrim people. We’re a pilgrim Church.
Today’s responsorial psalm speaks of ‘the path of life’.
We’re always journeying. We’re journeying to the most sacred of places - our supernatural destiny, our heavenly home.
We’re on this pilgrimage with others, we travel with others, and with God. We have God’s promise ‘I am with you always’ as we journey between where we are and where our journey leads.
Regarding the road, the pilgrim way, there’s a lovely line from the Old Testament prophet, Jeremiah - ‘Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls’.
Remember, 9@9 novena starts tonight. Nine nights saying this short prayer to the Sacred Heart. In these times, it’s especially good to unite in prayer.
Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
O my Jesus, you have said: 'Truly I say to you, ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you. ' Behold I knock, I seek and ask for the grace of...... (here name your request) Our Father... . Hail Mary... . Glory Be to the Father... .
Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.
Remember, too, the big appeal we’ll be making very soon for volunteer stewards, and volunteer cleaners. The church has been closed for nearly three months and we really do look forward to it reopening, but the reopening will very much depend on us having a sufficient number of volunteers to help with various roles.
Hope you have a good day.
Take care
