Hope all’s well.
So, day #3 of the 5 senses journey of little exercises to feel and touch God, in some way, through the senses.
Today, focus on Feel / Touch
A couple of lines from sacred scripture.
Hosea 11:3 - 4 ‘Yet I was the one who taught Israel to walk. I took my people up in my arms. I drew them to me with affection and love.’
John 20: 27. ‘Put your finger here and touch my hands. Stretch out your hand and put it into my side’
Starting with the place where you are, touch and feel everything that you see around you - it’s structure, it’s details. Close your eyes touch these things again.
How has God touched your life? How have you touched God in your life?
Remember, again, St Augustine’s words, ‘Why climb the mountains or go into the valleys of the world for Him who dwells within us?’
So, the church will open today from 12noon until 3pm if you wish to pop in for a quiet prayer. Remember and bring your face covering.
If you are popping in for a visit, you’re asked not to stay for too long, please. This will ensure that as many people as possible can use the limited time and space, and because shorter visits reduce virus risk. 15 minutes max is suggested.
As parishes have been asked to obtain a list of those who come to church in case the NHS needs contact details if someone who has attended church should become ill, the parish stewards will ask you for yours.
Tomorrow’s sense to reflect on will be Taste.
Hope you have a good day
Take care
