I hope this finds you safe and well.
This is certainly a challenging start to the new year with us being placed in lockdown again.
Unfortunately, there has been more than a little confusion regarding when churches' doors actually close.
It turns out, following government regulations, which came late last night, that yesterday's morning Mass was the last public Mass during this current lockdown.
The doors of our church, therefore, sadly, are now closed again.
Mass this morning will not be public, but will be live streamed at 10am. Visit St Andrew's YouTube Channel and subscribe.
Tomorrow will be a live streamed funeral Mass for Peter O'Neill. Our deepest sympathies to Margaret and her family. May Peter rest in peace.
Our church doors may be have closed for the rest of January, but many doors remain open.
Our chapel house door for your kind donations for the Foodbank is open daily. Food donations are desperately needed more than ever before, especially with the schools being closed for at least the next four weeks.
The door for Confessions is open anytime on request, but particularly on Saturdays at the front of the chapel house from 4.15pm to 4.45pm.
Car doors and car boots of our foodbank and soup run volunteers remain wide open to continue taking donations to those in need.
The gate to our grounds is open if you want to call in for a wee prayer before our cribs. There's one in the Jubilee Garden, and one just outside the front door of the church.
Plus, our live streaming Monday - Friday and Sunday 10am Mass enables our parish to open doors now in a very different way.
We're open as well to any ideas and suggestions you might have of ways during these lockdown weeks of helping to continue to build our parish community online.
And, of course, our parish phone line 942 4635 is open 24/7 for anyone who needs to call, as well as our website, Facebook and Twitter being open to keep you updated and fully informed of news and events.
Our church doors may have closed, once again, for lockdown #2, but our hearts haven't, and Christ's Gospel hasn't, and His heart remains open to every one of us.
Have a good day.
Stay in. Stay safe. Pray safe.
