With your generous cash donations, a couple of parishioners filled up their cars yesterday at the cash n carry with around £1,000 of purchases, which were taken straight to Drumchapel Foodbank.

Many thanks to all who have enrolled their child for the Sacraments in either St Andrew's or St Joseph's.
Just a reminder that all P3 parents intending to present their child for the Sacrament of Reconciliation during Lent 2022, and for First Holy Communion in May/June 2023, please collect an enrolment form from your parish's sacristy. Previously the Archdiocese processed PVG for those who were working with Vulnerable adults, however PVG only allows those working with Protected adults to apply for PVG. This impacts all volunteers working in groups such as SVDP, Bereavement Group, Hospital visits etc. Before the Archdiocese processes any new or updated PVG they will ensure that only those who are eligible apply. The Archdiocese is currently working on updating their database to identify those who do/do not require a PVG going forward by using a Tier system as outlined below. Those who no longer require a PVG (Tier 2) but are working with vulnerable groups such as examples given above will still require to complete the recruitment process with Archdiocese (AoG) application form, 2 references and training. Only then will they begin as volunteers. Those who are Tier 1 will continue as normal with Archdiocese application form, 2 references, training and PVG before commencing in their role. Volunteer recruitment process: Tier 1 – PVG / AoG Application / 2 x references / Training Tier 2 – AoG application / 2 x references / Training On receipt of the above as required depending on their Tier, volunteers will be sent an Approval letter by email which is CC’d to the Parish Priest & Parish Safeguarding Coordinator. There is no change to volunteers working with children who still require PVG Each year from September 1 to October 4, the Christian family unites for this worldwide celebration of prayer and action to protect our common home. This year, let us pray for the success of COP26 and for our own efforts to care for creation.
God, our Father. In this Season of Creation, we pray that the breath of your creative Word would move our hearts, as in the waters of our birth and baptism. Enlighten us with the grace to respond to your covenant and call to care for our common home. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen Send a Message to our leaders to protect the things we love from the climate emergency. By following this link to https://climatescotland.org you can have your message to the leaders attending COP26 delivered to them at the conference.
Please help to encourage those you know to add their voice by leaving a message. It is hoped to gather 10,000 messages from all across Scotland. |
